A Guide To All-grain Brewing In A Bag

Evening all, for the BIAB brewers in the know what's a 30l urn like compared to a 40l.... I've been on the hunt for a cheap one being a broke ass student most the time but have seen these 30l ones which are a damn sight cheaper http://cgi.ebay.com.au/30-litre-coffee-urn...id=p3286.c0.m14. I...

    Skunking & Sunlight

Hey james, The other option is cover your brew and invest in a timer if you haven't got one. A little playing around and you might work out that your heat mat works perfectly when you cover your brew just by setting the timer/heat mat to an hour on, an hour off for example... Cheers!

    Beer Labels And Logos

Awesome labels people! I've recently named my Home brewery and have been scribbling some pretty epic logos and labels. I can't wait to scan them and play with them on photoshop, it's gonna be so fun to stick them on with my ridiculous names and badly drawn art!! Nice to see what people are doing...

What Case Of Beer Would U Buy In The U.s.a.?

Get some crack too while you're at it!!!! I had a great time when I was over in the states last year drinking vile concoctions such as Sparks or Joose both malt liqour energy drinks. Big F**k off cans that get you buzzing and taste worse than most energy drinks. Drink 2 and before you pass out...

    Everyone Should Make This

Yeah thanks for getting onto that before me HB79(Are you a metal head by any chance?). I strain when I'm using grains but sometimes go about the hops additions in a round about way... When I first started brewing adding hops 4 or 5 years ago I used to just heat a coopers can, add...

Do Germans Have Any Idea About Beers?

Word. I think one of the first beers I tried to drink as a 14 or 15yo was piss or Geelong Bitter, no wonder I was put off for years!! Major booze crime that is given the resources to inflict their pain upon the world. There is no god! :beerbang:

The Last Time A Brew Really Excited You

Both last night when I cracked my first Wolf Wizard IPA, talk about hops beating you about the tastebuds! And also on Saturday when I bottled a brew then got to my Black Magick Stout and realised after approximately a month it's still not done, Did a smell/taste test to check it and it knocked...

    Everyone Should Make This

As homebrewer79 said..... I just chuck em in the pot, things settle in the fermenter, no hassles and the only sediment I ever get is yeast. On a side note, morning posts are rare for me but i dreamed of home brew last night, talk about obsessed. Cheers all!

    Hop Chroming

If you're as bad as me you've been planning a tattoo in your head for the last year or more.... The other next step is to drink a beer, I just cracked a Chimay Red... For once I agree with the messed up attitude of AA - once a hop addict always a hop addict....

    Hop Chroming

Guilty as charged!!!!! "QUOTE (manticle @ Aug 15 2009, 01:26 PM) There's loads of recipes you could tweak in the DB (and a million LCPA clone threads). My only though is that amber extract might give you too dark a beer. You will also get some flavour from the chinook at 30 mins so it depends...

Thanks again mate, good to see brewers looking out for each other! Good to hear reports of your recent success. Would be keen to meet some melbourne crew from the forum for some brews once I get stuck into the AG later this year. Exciting news just in speaking of beer related hapiness. As of a...

    Lcpa Extract Recipe

Funny that, it's by far my fav hops! I practically huff that shit when I'm brewing!! Hopping sounds pretty accurate for what I know of LCPA, I've done an extract brew of the LCBA which turned out a treat. For those that are it was something along these lines: East IPA Brewcraft Extract Can...

STEP BY STEP: DIY AG on the cheap

Cheers for the replies Manticle and Butters, Even after posting on here I've found some very useful old threads esp on BIAB. I think I'll look into getting a 40L urn and try my luck at some sewing further down the track. I most certainly do steep grain and though I've done a wide amount of...

STEP BY STEP: DIY AG on the cheap

G'day Mantic-ale, was wondering if there was anything else you, or anyone else for that matter, found particularily helpful in getting a good grasp on setting up a tun and AG brewing?? I feel as though I have a pretty basic grasp of AG from bits i've read on forums here and there but guess I do...
