    Woolshed Brewery

Sounds good. Might have to make my way through there sometime. Maybe a bit of a golfing and brewery tour via the Barossa. There seem to be a few craftbreweries out there brewing great aussie pale/sparkling ales, really redefining the style. Off topic - what band do you play in?

    Everyone Should Make This

Hi, I recently made this one and I've gotta say that its like nothing I've ever tried before. Its actually quite difficult to describe the flavour. Mine has been in the bottle for about 2 weeks now so its probably still a little young and sweeeet but it sure does taste good. definately one...

Got This 1 Brewing At The Moment

Hi, I steeped the grains over night, then brought it to the boil added the tin of goo, the chocolate and hops then boiled for ano hour. I only used a tin of Pale goo because I'm still relatively new at brewing. Can't see why you couldn't use 2 x 1.5 LME instead. cheers

    Orange Choc Dark Ale

Hi eveyone. I'm running low on alcohol again and need to put another brew down. Ive been looking at a dark ale and have come up with a recepie. Not too sure how well this will work, and I'm not too sure of the amount of cocoa to add to the recepie. 1 x 1.5kg tin of Pale Ale goo 700g DME...

    First Brew Bottled

Hi, Did you happen to record your start gravity? I'd say 1020 isn't an overally normal reading but then it depends on the amount of fermentables you put in to start with. How much yeast did you put in as well? did you do a yeast starter? How well was the wort aerated? cheers,

    Steep Hops

Yeah I tend to do the same, I'll do the boils and theres always bits and pieces that make it into the water but I always throw that into the fermenter. If its too cloudy then I'll throw it in the fridge for a while and transfer to another cube.

    Cider Recipe

I guess the main concern as well is that some people that may want to drink this cider may be lactose intolerant. I've done a bit of research and found that some people also like to add honey. I may go with the honey option and see what happens. Trial and error, eventually I'll get it right...

    Cider Recipe

Can I drain off some of the cider, heat it and add the lactose, then mix it back into the cube in the fridge as is or is it something you really need to add at the start Cheers,

    Cider Recipe

After about 10 days in the fridge and being racked twice the cider is starting to dry out almost like a white wine. Is there anything that I can do at this stage to reduce the dryness and possibly sweeten it up a bit. Perhaps throw in a litre of fresh juice or some other flavouring or even...

    3l Starter Cpa Yeast

Hi all, I walked across the road to my local and picked up a 6 pack of CPA so I could reculture the yeast. I did a bit of research and found a PDF on AHB which I sort of followed. I boiled 3L of rain water and added about 300gms of LDME cooled it to about 36 degrees or so then added some of...

    Help

If its been stable at 1.010 for 3 days then I'd say your ready to bottle your beer. You should look into temperature control though, I recently bought a hot/cold thermostat its a very useful tool to have. My beer now bubbles away nicely at a constant 22 degrees. Your final gravity reading...

    New Kit: Coopers European Lager

Hi all, I brewed up one of these about 6 weeks ago now, I didn't add anything extra just followed instructions. I carbed it up with the lollie drops and then let it sit for 2 weeks. I found that between 2 and 4 weeks in the bottle there was a real sweetness to the flavour that MOH really...

How Much Beer Do You Have On Your Shelf?

Hi everyone, just wondering is there such a thing as brewing too much beer. I know that I should never say bad things about beer but was just wondering. Sometimes I look at my empty shelves and think that I could fit at least 1000 bottles on my shelves not that I would buy 1000 bottles...

    Coopers Pale

I used a tin of CPA goo as well and threw in some Amarillo in about 5 minutes before end of boil. My bottles are carbing up at the moment but taste quite nice. There is a strong Hop flavour but then I did use 30gms in the last 5 minutes. Cheers,

    Have I Done Something Wrong?

I don't know if you should compare what you've brewed to a corona. They are completely different, would be like comparing an apple to a banana If it smells and tastes good then It's probably Ok. Im no expert though
