Whats The Worst Beer You've Ever Tried?

Phillips Gingerbeer in Canada. It's not ginger beer, it's ginger infused, unidentifiable ale. A waste of an otherwise average ale and a stain on the name of gingerbeer. I'd have to support some of the sentiments that tenants super has it's place. When you're unemployed and trying to party, that...

    Fridge Mate Or Brew Mate?

Cortez is on the money. I've had one of those running for the past year and a bit with no worries.

Free Electric Motor (5kg Clothes Dryer) Bne

Hi Guys, I've got an electric motor from a 5kg simpson clothes dryer that has been running my mill for the past year. I'm located in The Gap in Brisbane if someone wants to pick it up. I'm moving to Canada in a week and a bit and it'll go to the recyclers if no one takes it. Best to message me...

    Estonian Homebrew

Very nice. We didn't get to the brewery, but we certainly drank plenty of pints. Particularly in a bar just off the square with the statue of Oscar Wilde where we were paying about 50 pence a litre.

    Brewing A Sangria?

We make litre's (20-40) of it for summer parties and do it this way. Chopped fruit - oranges, apples, (optional) strawberries, cucumber. brandy Red wine, not shiraz or cab sav. You want something like a merlot or merlot blend so that it has a soft palate, but don't spend more than ~$6 a bottle...

    S.E.Q. Bulk Grain Buy Nov. 2010 ?

I'd be keen for two sacks and a couple of split bags if anyone in Brissy wants to split some specialties.

    Mini-kegs

I wouldn't store beer in the sprayer for a long time. I tend to use them for short term applications (parties), as the plastic has a strong odour that I haven't managed to wash out even after a few uses. Once sealed well I've had no problem with them holding pressure, and I bulk buy co2...

    5th Element - Southbank Brisbane

I've dropped in with the girlfriend for beers and mezzes prior to the movies. Done it a couple of times and had great service everytime. The meatballs were a winner, lightly spiced, good sauce. The taps were working fine but I got mainly bottled. 3 Ravens 55, meantime IPA, and an ESB. Got to go...

    Apa

I agree. No need for wheat at all in an apa.

    Digital Thermostats

Well, at least you can't fault them for knowing their stuff!!! Yeah, I used a small box because I'm a tightarse and it cost about $7, while the bigger ones were double the price or more. Everything fits in okay, but could be tidier with a bit better planning.

    Digital Thermostats

A quick tip for the hasty ones amongst us. Arrange all the components in the way you want them mounted and make sure you've got enough space inside your box for the wiring. If I did mine again I would have offset the unit to leave more space for plugs, or alternatively used the box lengthwise...

Whats On Tap At The Platform Bar - Brissy

Very tempting! I went to Dieu du ciel bar in Montreal and the beers were truly awesome. I get all excited just thinking about it. Chris

    #@#$% Monstermill, #$%& Drill

Haven't checked it, but it's a pretty hefty motor little motor. I figured if it can turn a large steel drum with 5kg of clothes in it then it should manage with my little ol' mill. I was going to go direct drive and connect it with some hydraulic hosing and two hose clamps so that if I don't get...

    #@#$% Monstermill, #$%& Drill

I've got a clothes dryer motor sitting on my table waiting for a stand to drive my MM. :super: 5kg clothes dryer, broken filter, $0.99 on ebay!

    Thermometer Accuracy

try the proscitech.com.au site. I got a hanna lab digital probe thermo from there for <$100 delivered. Thought that was pretty good given it's food grade and has reasonable tolerances and scale.

    30th Birthday Beer Ideas?!

I threw down 7 kegs for my 30th a while back. The first to go were the APA and Pilsner, closely followed by the Porter, the Amber Ale, and the Heffe weisen. The ESB had a dodgy tap which slowed down consumption, and the second Amber was 9% (accidental extra kilo of malt from the LHBS) and was a...
