I have a stainless steel pinlock gas in disconnect that leaks co2 when i plug it onto the keg post. Have tried it on several kegs with the same result. My other gas in disconnect works fine on the kegs. I can hear the gas leak out. A little bit of twisting or jiggering the disconnect around...

I have a stainless steel pin lock disconnect that i'm pretty sure is leaking. I have taken it apart and cleaned it out but the leak is still there albeit a bit slower. Does anyone know if you can get replacement seals for these? If so where from? Tried Craftbrewer - no go.

Just had an interesting conversation with a FE dude from Kempsey. Was trying to source a screw down valve for my Quell and the industrial/food grade topic came up. He reckons he has been working with gas for 20 years and would swear black and blue that they are different grades. I mentioned that...

I tried this with the 1kg tooheys liquid sugar. Pretty underwhelming really. The fact that it was my first keg and the carbonation issues I had didnt help. Will see how the bottles turned out in a couple of weeks.

Don't think so, for the same reason fire extinguishers with dip tubes must be turned upside down to dispense gas (not the liquid co2)

I'm curious. No doubt there are many variables but what is the rate at which CO2 is absorbed into beer? For example, say you have a chilled keg at 4degrees, you hook up the gas and give it 100kpa then remove the gas. How long til the pressure goes back to nothing in the keg? How long would it...

Well yes, actually. (must admit. forgot the strain relief though) There's a 10 amp circuit breaker in there. Not that you would know that. You have a made a few assumptions and we all know what "assume" makes. Have run it past two sparky mates and both approved. Freezer is running like a charm...

All sorted, is now working. Sparky mate to verify. Have a look at these instructions. The diagram says something different to what is written.

Thanks guys. i see where i went wrong. Slap!! Dont worry I dont take elctricity lightly. Wouldnt touch anything without circuit breakers/earth leakage etc. The unit has a little cover that screws on to cover the wires.

I purchased a "Broad range temperature controller" for my Fisher and Paykel freezer. I wired it up as per the diagram on the unit and accompanying instruction sheet. I switch on the power and the compressor runs. I set the desired temp to say 5 degrees. Ambient temp in the freezer is say 23...

the larger plugs are female threads with bolts in them. the hose assembly that came on the FE was connected to this output one so i figured i didnt want to mess with it too much

thanks Crundle, have done a heap of searching without hitting the bullseye. Bit the bullet and went down to Bunnings. regulator + 1/2"-3/8" brass bush reducer + 3/8"-1/4" brass bush reducer + old quell FE and teflon tape and voila!!! not the most elegant solution but should work :)

No-one knows what sort of thread this could be? It's a tapered thread that starts at about 10mm at the end and gets bigger as you go. What diameter is the thread on a soda stream bottle?
