    BRY-97 - sooooo slow

I pitched some of this last night - not used it before. I chucked it in without rehydrating and then luckily saw this on their website: ‘Our research suggests that pitching LalBrew BRY-97TM directly into wort without prior rehydration will often result in better performance including shorter...

    Failed Carbonation / conditioning.

I had a batch in winter that didn’t carbonate. My trick to get them going was line a cardboard box with an electric blanket, swirl all the bottles to wake the yeast up and put them in the box. Put the blanket on low every now and then… did the trick. All irrelevant tho if it’s a lack of priming...

Swapping thread, post what your willing to swap and if someone is interested pm that person

Will pay close attention. Got an APA not far off bottling, a British strong ale not far off bottling and an AIPA scheduled for a brew day in a week… Gonna be a bit late to the party as I need to wait for them to condition. Only thing I’ve got atm is a sparkling ale which needs a lot of...

Sadly I was burping up a weird plastic taste once I started drinking the beer...

    All grain over carbonation

My line of thought is the colder it is, the more co2 will have sunk into the beer making it more lively

    All grain over carbonation

Being a bit of a contrarian here, but perhaps there’s a chance they’re too cold in your fridge… I recently bought a new fridge which was set way colder than my previous one, and a couple of sparkling ales I made started gushing. And around Xmas time I had some little creatures pales in a...

    Strong Ale

Brewing again now that I’ve settled somewhere new and have my gear at hand. I’ve found that pretty much all of my beers (I bottle) have improved significantly after the three month+ mark, so am looking ahead now at when I will be drinking my next batch - winter. Thought I’d get a winter warmer...
