    SA AHB Xmas Case 2005

Did someone say free samples?? :) Well, I've done the *mumblesintohand*, and the *cough* is in the primary.

    Stainless Conicals

Great stuff wortgames. If i was to buy one (which I realistically couldn't this year but in the new year could), i reckon: - Adjustable legs - Without the taps - 50 ltr ish, (I'd rather keep it out of the fridge, and have a cooling coil, then pump cool water / glycol from the fridge to save...

    Beer Filter

Nice work Ross. It's good to know that it's an option. Do you think it would be better / easier to clean the filter if you used plugs?

    Beer Filter

Well mine / ours just rocked up. Have to say that Hydrofil have proven to be a great company to deal with. The free postage is even express post which was unexpected. My next beer was going to be a Heffeweizen, but i think it will now be a krystalweizen ;)

    Coopers Take Over

Well said Kai. Pretty much sums it up for me.

Gulf Brewery - Your Chance To Name The Beers

I figured that the G has a secret double life has a fishing hook, and the "string" was fishing line (?) - and to be honest, i much prefer it to the jumping fish.

    Beer Filter

I HATE YOU GUYS!!!! ;) I've just ordered one even though I spent too much recently (on more kegs, taps etc). However, I gave a little bit of thought to the process and saved some money by going halves in one with a fellow insectoid brewer who lives around the corner :) Seriously though, if...

    B3 News And Branding

Paul, I like Label 1 for the exact same reasons as Hoops (always thought he was a very smart guy ;) ) so I won't repeat them. I must say though, that all three look supurb, and are of very high quality. Whoever designed them has done a great job.

    Au Ball Lock Keg Pricing

Lukes and Muga, Perhaps you'd be better asking your questions via an email, as Matt said, he may not get back to the board in a timely fasion to reply to this thread. You can then post the answers back on the board if you wish for other's references.

    Paulaner Heffe-wiezen

I could handle the 1 step, and then mashout pretty easily, so I'll aim at that then. I'll post back with how i go Cheers mate

    Beer Filter

Guys, these would probably work well as Randall's as well. Beer filter by day. Beer over-hopping machines by night :) Not sure how the inlet and outlet works / whether it would be possible but might be interesting for group brewdays :super:

    Paulaner Heffe-wiezen

Thanks for that recipe Ausdb. I'm getting some of the Weihenstephan yeast from Grumpy's on Sunday, so I'll try and finalise the grain bill before then. Hope to brew it one night next week. If I can get my hands on some carahell and acidulated at the same time I might have a crack at it. What...

    Grumpys On 17th September

The friday may end up being a more likely option for me actually. Hope to be at one or the other

    Paulaner Heffe-wiezen

I'm thinking of making it with Pils malt instead of Ale malt, I have Weyermann Wheat and Pils, so it could be an all German affair. I'd also be using Wyeast xxxx. I'd be brewing it next week at the earliest so let us know how your brew day goes. Good luck with it.

    Paulaner Heffe-wiezen

Andrew, I know this was a fair while ago now, but how did your HefeWeizen go? I'm thinking of doing one, for a quick turnaround beer, and am looking for recipes. Cheers

    Grain Mill @ Grumpys $160

I think the story with the Marga Mill price increases was that the importation price went up, so everyone, everywhere increased their prices (?) I managed to get one at the cheaper price after they went up simply because I found one at a store where they had stock.

    Glass Stress Lines

Back in the days when I used to bottle  :P i had one of those 2 handled manual cappers. It'd routinely break bottles by cleanly snapping the top inch off the neck of the bottle, it would make a beautiful clean break. Sometimes it wouldn't actually break it off but crack through...

    Aeration Of Wort

After cooling with my CFC, my wort is normally still well above pitching temp so I go from CFC to fermenter with a minimum of splashing, and leave the fermenter in the fridge over night / for the rest of the day to cool down - this also has the benefit of allowing any hop debris to settle out...

    Brew Goliath

Kirem, That's exactly what I'd heard through the grapevine ... and we all know the grapevine never lies ;) I think that's the correct story.

    Boiler To The Rescue!

Craftbrew to the rescue !!! I once used mine to make beer :P Surely this means many brownie points for future brew days / pickups from drinking sessions. And don't forget to check to see if your hot water system is stainless, coz I'm sure you'd want to be able to do 100L batches ;)
