Hey guys, so like the title suggests i'm looking at getting a proper vessel for mashing instead of doing Brew in a Bag. What do you think? I'm also on a budget and looking for something under $100 preferably.

    Aecht Schlenkerla Clone

Hey, how did this go? I'm really interested in trying a smoke beer similar to the Schlenkerla. Also, probably won't lager it, would this cause any problems do you think?

This is a really good idea, this way we could have a little blog network going on...

I've heard this one or two times, i think it's the hair... Cheers! Thanks for pointing that out, i'll let her know. Aw man, that sucks. Temperature control is almost as important as sanitation, and now that i have sanitation pretty much together, it is even more important. Thanks for the...

Would love some feedback, i'm really going to try to be very simple and try to keep out as much of the jargon and complicated stuff as possible. Thinking of doing some video reviews and stuff down the line. http://thebeernebula.blogspot.com.au/ Thanks!

    Couple of questions...

Hey there! Ok so i've got a couple of problems at the moment. I've bottled a stout last week and primed with about 2 grams of dextrose per 330ml bottle, opened a bottle today to find that it was way under-carbonated, like to the point of almost being not carbonated at all. It was my first all...

    One favourite please

Go stout, especially since the cold weather's coming on.

I'm jumping into the deep end, probably gonna do a crazy malty amber, or a imperial chilli choc stout... Oh yeah... Also when i get another fermenter to go in the fridge i will probably just pump out a few pales for the band.

Update! So i added about 1/2 a cup of cooled espresso shots that i poured at work using a coffee our coffee supplier hand mixed for me (he is a brewer too), it tastes ******* great! Really subtle coffee notes which add to the bitterness, and it has a big malty sweetness there too. Going to...

Sorry to hijack, but what $19 20L pot are you talking about?

Yay for hard rubbish! Well there was actually a fermenter out the front of this place as well, but it was ******* gross and covered in cling wrap. I was hoping someone would come out so i could ask them about it. I'm gonna spray it with shitloads of star san solution and leave it until the next...

Look what i found on the street! 23 litres, just need another now. How much head space do you need in primary? Would 3 litres be enough? Cleaned up pretty nicely, lids seal is still perfect, and is spotless on the inside. It's a Willow.

Thanks mate! Also, it looks like bits of husk on the top (quite possible that some grain got into the boil). Is this what it looks like? Has anyone seen this before?

It tastes quite nice, quite watery, not as big as i was hoping obviously. Yeast flavour is pretty prevalent, but that's cause i'm literally drinking yeast.. Going to be adding coffee in a couple of weeks just before i bottle too.

Do you know the specific name of these jerry cans?
