    14yr old coopers kit!!

Thanks for the anecdotal evidence. I have a can lying around somewhere that is probably approaching the best before date.

    14yr old coopers kit!!

That picture is really helpful. When you're next making up a Coopers kit, don't forget to squeeze 4 oranges and add that to the fermenter.

Maybe Coopers have an online video one can access.

    Specific gravity not changing

Yeah, I misread the question, late at night. I gave the content of what an OG: 1055 would normally be around.

    Brulosophy - Lager Method

Put a tablespoon of gypsum in your water, that will give you a crisp clear lager. :p I used 2 tablespoons on a double batch of ale fermented with 1469, and it is the crispest clearest beer I have ever made by a long, long way. I recently cultured the yeast from an 18 month old bottle and it...

    Specific gravity not changing

If OG: 1055 and FG: 1010 it should be about 6% abv.

    should I rouse the hops?

A layer of stuff on top of the beer doesn't sound too good. Are you sure it isn't infected?

    14yr old coopers kit!!

Temp control with a Coopers brew kit, bahahahaha! Good one. Coopers idea of temp control is: stick your fermenter somewhere warm.

    14yr old coopers kit!!

Add a tablespoon of gypsum to the water and use an English yeast, it will turn out beautiful. :D

    Specific gravity not changing

1020 seems a bit high. Could be the yeast you are using. You can check if the hydrometer is accurate by placing it in clean water.

Anyone got this bridge rd recipe?

Are you after an extract or all grain recipe? Extract you could probably use a Coopers lager can (original series), steep 50 grams of dark crystal, and add 50 grams of citra pellets at 10 minutes and then chill the pot by standing in a tub of ice. A 19 litre pot from BigW filled to capacity...

    Specific gravity not changing

Which can did you use? Did you add any brewing sugars to the mix? How many litres did you make the batch up to? Did you steep any spec malts like crystal etc.? Did you add any hops? What was the starting gravity? Which yeast did you use to ferment it with? 1020 seems a bit high.

    Stainless Pot issue

I thought it might be one of those thick copper base things, but it just looks like a thin sheet on closer inspection.

    Stainless Pot issue

An option might be to TIG weld around the edge of the pot, or maybe braze it with pure copper. It could probably be spot welded. And if access to a proper spot welder is unavailable, spot welding with a MIG is an option, but it will leave a bit of a rounded spot of metal inside the base of the...

    Coopers yeast

I've done it using one stubbie without any problems at all.

    Stainless Pot issue

Some sort of epoxy might do it. You will probably need special additives and you may need to heat treat it to cure it for added strength (heat resistance). Your best bet would be to contact someone who retails fiberglassing materials.

    Coopers golden ale recipe help

Does your water container have a tap? I have more than one fermenter, and I normally transfer from one to the next to bottle. Transferring the beer before bottling ensures you don't get a yeast ring (or less of one) around the top of your bottles. I normally use 5 grams a litre of white sugar...
