Nah, as soon as I tasted it I knew it wasn't a steam. It fatigues my palate with it's sweetness, can only have two before moving on to something else.

Not much point getting this email when i didn't get one upon submitting my beers two months ago. This also arrived the day of the dropoff date, not at least two weeks beforehand so i can organise my entries to arrive on time.

This exact same issue was present on my hops, and after a lot of investigation i found to be riddled with mites (especially the red spider mite). Grab a suspect leaf, put it over a sheet of white paper and tap the leaf. Inspect the paper and be prepared for a battle if it is mites. Neem oil...

Very papery, scrunchy sound, yellow powder as well but for some reason they're not as aromatic as last year. Nowhere near it. I made the mistake of picking them weeks earlier last year but the last year's batch definitely smelled more pungent. I agree they're not far away. Maybe I'll cut one...

The best lemon / lime beer I've made to date comes from Dr Rudu / Mouteka. I make the combo often in light summer beers. Also gives a slight note of lemongrass.

Could someone hazard a guess at how long until these cones will be at maturity? I'd like to throw them in the whirlpool rather than dry them, so planning a brew day accordingly. My guess is 2-3 weeks, but don't have enough experience growing hops.

All my hop plants that were in the ground looked fine today. The general herb/vege plants in pots were suffering stress by the mid afternoon, so no doubt the crowns in pot would have been.

I bought a l RO setup as I was doing one batch a week and it would've been too expensive to use bottled water ($14x 42 weeks). If you're going to go to the trouble of filtering AND preboiling, I would just go with RO to save a lot of time.
