Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

Its decent. I was just wondering if people have had trouble in low air temps before? I can set it to 140 and it wont show hotter than 100 well hasnt so far with no insulation and ambient temps below 18degrees.

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

Yeah it was a vigerous boil. Ive been using the wifes deep fry temp guage and its been sitting on a steady 102 at the top. We're about 400m above sea level here and im running it in a shed with 3 phase power running off a 25amp fuse so power shouldnt be a problem....although the shed wiring is...

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

Just finished my second brew with the Robobrew. Easy enough. Got my winch hooked up so I dont have to lift silly amounts of wet grain. Just one thing. Has anyone had trouble getting their robobrew passed 100 degrees? The ambient temp is around 15 atm. I have done two boils and both of them...

    Hops outside the growing zone.

IIRC it was 'red earth' one of their own breed. Just make sure with the seeds that anything non performing goes in the bin! You'll potentially get about 3-10 plants out of 100 that actually perform well. Then its a matter of picking any that perform and then crop well......time consuming but...

    Hops outside the growing zone.

Probably not heaps. Farming in the US is well subsidized in comparison to here. I actually have one of the owners as a mate on FB......going to pick their brains at some point!! Extremely interesting idea. I think probably the point would be to speed up the growth. Plants expend a lot of their...

Hey Yob......try the new owners of Hopswest. They offered me a male rhizome mate not sure on the price as they seem a little pricey but probably the only place ive heard of selling them in Australia atm ;)

Bulk Rhizomes wanted for 2016/17 hops season

LOL any Registered hop is a trademarked and full rights go to the breeder and you need a licence to grow it! Trademarked hops is getting close to being opened up but still need a licence from the breeder. There should be some interesting things going around soon. Columbus if you can find it is...

Bulk Rhizomes wanted for 2016/17 hops season

Hi mate. First years should be fine. Ive got a bunch too. We sell them for $5 each because they're good but wont produce first season like a rhizome does! I still have to wait and see how many of the first years come up after winter. We have a system to produce stock its just going to be way to...

Bulk Rhizomes wanted for 2016/17 hops season

Unfortunately guys....I wont have any to sell this year Columbus wise. I am reusing every rhizome that comes out of the ground to either swap for other varieties or to re plan for our extensiont! 2017/18 I should have a ton of them to sell though....just not very close atm. We should be...

    Hops outside the growing zone.

Id say vast lack of nitrogen.......hops cones are 50% nitrogen by weight when harvested. There is a specific time to add nitrogen too to get big cones out! Canberra is actually below the 35th so technically they should grow well there...some of the stock floating around is pretty rubbish too....

Bulk Rhizomes wanted for 2016/17 hops season

Hi im just getting in early this year. Hopefully a few of the guys here will be happy to sell swap to us and then watch us grow some monster plants with them. We had a seriously successful pilot season here. Averaging 2.2kg wet per first year rhizomes. Im specifically after Nugget, Cascade and...

When do I put it in the ground?

The old timers....read before 1950 used to plant in April. The soil is still warm but you run the risk or rot due to the soil getting we all winter. The general consensus now is to leave them in the fridge until August. We planted early september last year. Had no issues at all. I would say...

    Hops outside the growing zone.

Upper hunter should be fine. I know a guy up there that supplies a fair whack to 4 Pines that he grows on his acerage. You'll have a fair bit of trouble sourcing rhizomes and I would actually recommend doing a pilot season with about 20-30 just to get your bearing and not spend a fortune on...

2016 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hop Garden!

You may be surprised. My columbus are almost ready...two weeks. My Golding have just started to flower massively now. So they're at least another month away. Really depends on the sun they're getting. 22+ nodes is the magic number if they get that many nodes you'll get cones!!! Thats what the...
