    Just Out Of Interest...

you got it. watch your pot closely for boilovers, especially when adding the hops. to avoid / minimise the chance of this occuring turn the heat down once the pot comes to the boil to just maintain it and then add the hops in small increments i.e. a pinch at a time although, you could...

    Just Out Of Interest...

say you were going to add 500g LDM & 500g dextrose, just take the 200g LDM out of the 500 total. don't expose the LDM to steam or it'll clump up and stick like poo to a blanket. boil it up, add it to the fermentor then add the blonde kit and the rest of your LDM & dex & top up with cold water...

    Pid Controller (rex-c100) Vs Stc-1000

consider making your pid portable so you can use it to cook your food and control your mash (not at the same time though). a ramp / soak PID will automagically control your mash steps...you do need to step mash meat though, right ;) i have a similar model to the one you linked to, it has the...

It's not a robinox, and i'm not sure about the warranty, got it from ebay (dnss_hospitality) in december 2010 and looks similar to the handy import ones. I have contacted the seller to see what they say, but i'm not holding my breath Converting to electric is not really an option at the...

2011 Hop Plantations, Show Us Your Hops!

Blended about 140g of cascade and 70g of chinook as sub 10min additions in a pale ale yesterday. I had to throw away a pack of each as they were picked too early and smelt like dry grass, even after blending ended up huffing the jug for about 5 minutes before rinsing it out with wort :icon_drool2:
