    Beer Line - what diameter?

Does anywhere down under sell 4mmID/8mmOD versions of this? I'd like to replace the more solid Keg King lines I've currently got after encountering some splits recently, but I'd need like 8m of 5mm line to replace my current 4mm set up.

    Beer Line - what diameter?

Would recommend 4mm ID line. I use about 5 metres of that and pour very nice @ about 13-15psi.

AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL HOMEBREW CHAMPIONSHIPS - 26 August, 2017

Right, but don't we still need to know the style descriptions/guidelines in that case? I mean, this beer I've got in my keg, is it going to be considered a pale ale, or a sour imperial rauchbier?

    Reverse osmosis system.

Are there any places around where you can get your tap water analysed, so as to take into consideration if an RO system would be of any benefit? I've often heard the Melbourne water, for example, has very little in the way of minerals to begin with, in comparison to other city water supplies...

AUSTRALIAN REGIONAL HOMEBREW CHAMPIONSHIPS - 26 August, 2017

So it's judged more like a specialty category? Where the description of the entry is the guideline judged against?

    Disposable N2 bottle

Wow pure N2. Only other time I've seen that sold in the context of home brewing, was actually a front for a euthanasia support shop. I can't see it really have a lot of uses in home brewing beer. I guess you could carb up your beer, then de-gas and pour with high pressure nitro, then when...

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

Yeah I've noticed the same thing even with the ones that come on the manifolds from Kegking (probably the same check valves anyway!). I'll give these a bit of a bench test of their "one way"-ness and crack pressure/pressure drop before installing them.

    Westgate Brewers Stout Extravaganza 2017

Prizes were epic. I can't remember exactly, but there was just piles and piles of stuff there. We carted all the Merri Mashers' winners prizes out to Steve's van. He's put a message up on facebook to get in contact with the winners (Michael, Julian and Brett). I have the scoresheets for the...

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

I ended up ordering half a dozen off AliExpress. At $5 a pop delivered, even if they're ****, it's a cheap gamble.

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

Don't have a problem from buying OS, but I'd probably just go direct to China if I was, as the shipping from the States is utterly ridiculous ($52 shipping for 6 of these!) eg...

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

I see, it's not really that which I had an issue, I don't think. It's more the fact that what I'm after, essentially, is the last linkage in my system to be an MFL connection, so I can easily replace, add or remove hoses quickly without damage.

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

Right this very second, I'm after 6 of them. The link posted by Barls earlier (http://www.craftbrewer.com.au/shop/details.asp?PID=4511), is pretty much exactly what I'm after here, the trouble with that specific one is some qaulity issues with the products meaning they're not all "check valves"...

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

For those following along at home, it appears those barbs screwed into the check valves are not designed to come off... The look like they've got some adhesive on them. Combined with how soft the metal is mean you just end up chewing up the nut instead of loosening anything. Back to the googler!

False bottom for 19L Big W pot

I've had teflon coated stuff in my mash without any dramas. It shouldn't react to anything we're using, PTFE wouldn't even blink at the temps we use for mashing. Even the boil, PTFE should be fine.

    We are going on kickstarter

Hrmm. Just noticed on the reddit post of this kickstarter, the makers of this device have stated it's a cloud service, that will require their servers for this device to function. So, if, or perhaps when given recent history, this company goes belly up, and the bills for their servers aren't...

False bottom for 19L Big W pot

Pizza tray (with the holes for faking the crispness), and some stainless bolts. Works a treat for me.

    We are going on kickstarter

That seems like a rather large margin of error, that would pretty much remove any benefits in using this device, in my eyes... I wonder if it's time that is the cause the margin of error, or volume of CO2?

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

Right, so you take the standard ball vales with check valves like these here - http://kegking.com.au/1-4-inch-ball-valve-with-check-valve.html and replace the barb that's screwed in with this? http://kegking.com.au/brass-1-4inch-mfl-x-1-4-npt-1-4-bsp.html I wasn't aware that was replaceable...

Gas check valves with MFL fittings

Yeah, I've noticed that as well, right pain in the ass. Sorry, not following here. What's the other connection going to those manifold taps? Very nice, better than I could find. Will probably just need to see if they have check valves...
