    Cost Of Getting Into Kegging?

+1 all of the above. The best advice that I can offer is, if you can buy a gas cylinder do so! Saves you the $130 per year or so in rental, the biggest ripoff in the whole deal. Let's face it, around $40 for a refill if you use a whole bottle in a year, and $130+ just to rent it. Remember...

    The Bag For Biab

Turn it inside out, hang it on the line, put your hose onto spray mode and stick it inside the bag ie hose it out from the inside. You might get a bit wet if the wind is blowing the wrong way, but nothing like those poor b..s in NQ are going to cop over the next couple of days.

    Too Old For Ahb?

Pete, if you're not 62 then you aint that old. If you're older then I'm not that old! I go along with most of what you put under your post but as an Aussie ex serviceman let me just not quite agree with it all, Bob

    Crown 40 Litre Water Urn

I too have no problems keeping a rolling boil in a 40 litre Crown urn. To answer your questions a. I bought a 600cm steel ruler, and because the urn has that bump in the middle, found that the first 6 litres measured 78cm, and every litre after that 11 cm. b. Agree with Mark c. Up to you...

    Yeast Washing And Temperature

I've found that keeping the harvested yeast (in a PET bottle) in the fridge and every few days when it has settled tipping out the beer? on top, filling up again with cold boiled water, shaking and then going back to step one works pretty well.

Ag Seems Expensive,am I Missing Something

I once came across a lady (who spent half of each year on a boat) who said that she could get two brews out of each home brand tin of gunk. She thought she made a great drop, I don't think I can tell you what I thought of the 2ml I tried. Back to the original thread, K&K can get a bit...

    Mashing Question

With your fist at near shoulder height, (trolley plus urn height), it would probably look amazing to most of the oldies up there!

Barley Belly's Maiden Biab Brew Day

+1 on the hopsock. I have started using a smaller version of the mashing bag, made out of voile, for my hops. Drains a lot quicker and swirls around during the boil a lot more. Bob

Whats The Worst Beer You've Ever Tried?

Until the year before last, Three Coins in Sri Lanka, or Ceylon as it was then known (1968). Then I did a boat trip from Cairns to Darwin with mate and his wife. We came across a couple who offered to swap home brews. The wife made the beer and her claim to fame was "I get two brews out of...

    Js Sundown Lager

I had never heard of this particular JS product. Took the good wife out for our 38th anniversary tonight and saw it on tap at the local. Choked a bit at the $5.80 for a schooner but it was a nice drop. Does anyone have a recipe for a clone? Bob

    Biblical Scale Disaster

Thanks mate, have since heard that my sister-in-law was speaking to her this morning and all is OK. Reading all these posts, although we aren't in any danger, I'll be doing a check on our candle supply and filling up the gas bottle tomorrow. Bob

I recommend the Calculator on www.biabrewer.info. You have to post as a new applicant, but once that post is published all is opened to you. This site is specifically for BIAB, maxi, mini or normal size brews. Bob
