    doesnt taste right

Sounds like the right question to me. My first beer where I steeped grain wasn't cracked. Live and learn.

    Hipster beard transplants.

Its been a couple of years since I've been there but what I remember it was a dollar a pop or 5 for 3. The big prize was 12 balls.

They are still around, my old municipal golf club still has one but you win golf balls instead.

Using a glass-top electric stove for flask boiling

Another thing to think about, if you put aluminium foil on the top as a cap, put it on loose, the pressure can build and as it hits the ceiling rains down hot liquid. A terrible mess.

First Marzen, looking for yeast feedback

Just make sure you taste and smell the starter before pitching the yeast. If it doesn't have a sweet malt flavour in there, or it is sour, ditch it. If it is good it still wont taste like beer because there's no hops in it. Just sweet and estery. Check out Mr Malty for yeast calculations /...

You want 100grams of dme per litre and I would shake as opposed to using the fish pump.

I bulk primed a brew that was already cold conditioning and the fv had swollen a few weeks later. Poor practice and not a good...

Blood everywhere .. The bottle went BANG

What was the finishing gravity? Too soon? But seriously, that's pretty crap, glad it didn't do any serious harm. edit: phone spelling

I agree to that, constructive criticism only makes you a better brewer.

Any interest in a brew club to the north of Melbourne?

The focus is on home brew, so if you have some brew you want to show off bring that.

Any interest in a brew club to the north of Melbourne?

This is one hell of a way to kick off a home brew club, I'm a bit amazed the way its turning out. Being able to have in house comp using the pilot brewery is a kick ass idea, might be a little different to my 2v biab system. Great idea and great work for getting this off the ground Kevin.

Is your craft beer actually 'craft'? What the big brewers don&

I'm a bit of a fan of the 4 Pines stout, kolsch and pale ale, great beers imo. I'll take any of them over a fat yak, but I would take a yak any day over a vb. My sliding scale of flavour.
