    Citra

I have an all citra American wheat on atm that is pretty lemony. I think malt and accompanying hop choices can massively change perception of a hop.

Least careful you've been sanitising without an infection

Still don't know. Wild yeast, but of unknown origin. I just don't brew at home now, I either brew at a friend's or at my parents place, don't have problems at either place. I do a test beer here every few months to see if I can move back but cop it every time. So I haven't beaten the problem...

I vote S-04, love it in dark beers.

Least careful you've been sanitising without an infection

As someone who lost probably 10 batches last year, amen to that. From personal experience though I think a large part of it is environmental. I brewed for years with dirty fermenter taps and a mediocre sanitisation regime without an issue. Then I moved and got a problem, and was buying new...

Trying to "mill" grain with a blender

Nice experiment. I blend when doing biab and have done for years, I find the finer the grind equals better efficiency. The only downside is the bag gets more clogged and is harder to drain/squeeze.

    Kegging Setups

Someone had an awesome set-up where they had a glycol cooled font built into their kitchen bench, coming up from below the kitchen. Might have been Don Bourke.

    Belgian Stout

Hi all So I have this pack of T 58 that's been sitting in the fridge for like a year, and I also want to brew something dark to bottle for the winter months. So I'm thinking belgian stout. There's not a lot of info out there, or a lot of recipes - what have people had success with and how will...

I dunno how much that would stop pellets from coming through but i reckon it's a great idea for flowers if you had wort over the first 5 cms or so over the bottom plate/ filter

Good question - if i went this route and ran an extension cord from that outlet to the garage would it work? Does the lead need to be rated for 15A too? Also are pretty much all ovens 15A? Thanks

Dedicated Braumeister Guide, Problems & Solution Thread

Sorry Pratty you make a good point: I forgot to mention I also sparge/rinse with 10 litres water after pulling the pipe/while ramping up to boil. Not sure how you'd calculate that time wise. I have a really big mash paddle which is ideal for whirlpooling which helps me reduce trub through very...

Dedicated Braumeister Guide, Problems & Solution Thread

Make sure you are tilting the unit when draining and getting a good whirlpool. I generally get 85-90% ME and 80-85% BHE. On top of that do an extended mashout with meaty steps at beta and alpha temp ranges. I almost always get 82-84% BHE with: 1o mins at 54 30 mins at 63 30 mins at 73 1hr at...

    Bridge Road Pale Ale

With the current batch only about a month old, I reckon its the best domestic pale ale at the moment and my go to if I'm buying beers.
