    Sounds like a plan barls.

    Keg King

Okay. Thanks forthe info. Any other way without trying to drill a hole hoping to miss a gas line

    Keg King

I didn't want to squash it with the door, but a lot of brewers do, apparently. Maybe the only way. I may be able to give the heat belt a miss in Qld.

No, I'm not a sparky. Can a heat belt cable be cut then poked through the drain hole and rejoined?

    Keg King

Hi Anyone using a Keg King temp. controller? According to the , it has a 6.5 mm diameter probe. This would just about slide up the drain hole in my fridge. Has anyone used this method? The other alternative is just having it through the door between the door seal and the fridge. I presume the...

nosco, thanks for all that info. I'll never look at a bar fridge the same way again.

Bar fridge, kegerator fridge or chest freezer.

Thanks for that, it's just the lifting part may be a worry.

Thanks mate, I like the bar fridge for ease of use.

Bar fridge, kegerator fridge or chest freezer.

I'm not a young man, so later the lifting could be a problem.

Can you explain the cooling plate, is that to do with the freezer? I was wondering if you had to immobilise the freezer section or disconnect it?

    Wine fridge at Aldi

Yes, I'm starting to like the idea of a bar fridge or freezer, tried and tested by you good brewers here.

Soda water? She wouldn't know what that was, she quaffes wine, mate :) But I get the idea. Thanks.

Bar fridge, kegerator fridge or chest freezer.

I'm starting a new topic. Thanks for all your info, I've gone off the idea of the wine fridge because a lot of what everyone said makes sense. Now I'm leaning towards a bar fridge (for appearance sake to keep the wife happy). What do you do with the freezer section? Can you bypass it or...

    Wine fridge at Aldi

That sounds like more good information, more study on this. That's interesting about the fermenter temp not changing much.

    Wine fridge at Aldi

Okay, it seems this needs more thought. Thanks for your opinion. I was also looking at an 'all fridge' as I've read that the freezer section of a fridge can cause a problem?

They look pretty good but I'm pushed for room. I live in a home park and it's only a small house.

It mentions a fan, is that the evaporator? It will be interesting to see how the wine fridge handles the "mass" of the fermenter.

    Wine fridge at Aldi

It does have a compressor: http://www.stirlingappliances.com.au/product-categories/fridge/46-bottle-wine-fridge.html I'm inclined to give it a go although I've had conflicting reports here from brewers here. Time will tell.

Thanks for the link. I've estimated the internal dimensions looking at the picture and adding up the bottles and the space in between the shelves. A fermenter should fit easily, but I'll take a tape to the store. I like the Coopers fermenter without the air-lock. Do you need to keep the beer...
