I never had any stuck sparges as such, but my efficiency has risen since using rice hulls for the last 8 or so brews. It does mash in a bit easier as well. 1-2 handfulls would be plenty. I bought Rye at the same time which was the main reason for getting it, and it was cheap :)
I have only just got my ferment freezer going with the 3rd and 4th temp contolled brews in there now. I have my heat leaning against the side of the freezer, air can still get around it and it does the whole freezer. Seems to be working well. You don't want it underneath, same with bottles...
Just check this guys post, should be enough info there for the next 2 generations of brewers.
Seriously though, from all the info I have read you need a gas fitter, which is why I chose the Italian Spiral with a med reg.

How's those pain killers goin?
back on topic: some go to chooks, most in the bin as they smell pretty quick.
I did a keg fridge recently and used high gloss enamel applied with a roller. 2 coats, all i did was clean, tape and paint. Get a good quality paint and you're laughing. 1 ltr cost me $27, which was then soplit into two colours.

Not saying they don't work BUT, I tried a step bit on my 50 ltr keggle. Used oil like you should. Took at least 2 hrs to get it to 8mm. Went to a mates place who has a 20mm bit and it was done in 2 minutes. Stepped bits wer awesome for the fridge though, like going through butter!
Thanks to NickJD for posting that photo and drawing. They made it very easy to hook up my two stc-1000's. I made the same unkillable mistakes as many others it seems, until I saw that photo.
