    Whats Your House Beer?

Yep, always at least one APA on tap. Constantly playing around with different amounts and combinations of Cascade and Amarillo. Brilliant flavours. :beerbang: Scott

When The Beer Runs Out What Do You Drink

Enjoy a nice red wine. Sometimes even the not so nice ones. Ditto. It is a bit difficult to answer as its never going to happen here. I get the sh#ts when I see an empty keg. In fact I have the sh#ts now. But I'II be happy again on the weekend. :D Scott

    Have I Slaughtered My Beer

Thanks for the tip razz but it was DrewCarey82's problem. :P I was just curious as to if you reused a yeast cake that had initially been used in less than favourable conditions, would any off flavours be transferred to the new beer? I would suspect that this would be the case but I'm not...

    Have I Slaughtered My Beer

Just had a thought. If a beer is fermented out too high and you end up with off flavours (ie. banana) and you then re-use the yeast cake, will the same flavours be transferred to the new beer? Even if the second beer is fermented at more acceptable temps? Scott

    Alternatives To Gas Boiled Kettles?

hughman666, I believe it can be done but the diameter of the jets (holes) need to be altered. I'm not 100% sure but I think the jets need to be increased in diameter for natural gas. I have a vague recollection that I read about someone on this site having done it. Scott

    Melbourne Home Brew Shops

I'II also give a vote to Dave at Greensborough Homebrewing. Good range of products (that he's improving all the time), good prices, very helpful and is always up for a chat. I haven't been to G&G yet (bit too far away) but its probably the only other HBS I'd go to. Tried one in Boronia...

    Its All Your Fault!

G'day PP. No I didn't actually see anyone else do an AG before my attempt. When I got back into brewing a bit over a year ago I had no intention of doing AG's. But over time I just felt that while I was happy with my extract brews it could somehow be better. I ended up doing a few partials and...

Do Keggers Let Your Beer Age?

Gee Steve, you'd be pissed off with that. :D Right next to the BBQ! :chug: :chug:  Scott

    Amarillo

I love it and have used it for bittering, flavour and aroma. Its my favourite hop at the moment and as others have said it goes well in combination with Cascade. I tend to use it mainly for flavour and aroma with NB or POR for bittering. I've just got some Simcoe recently and I'm looking...

Do Keggers Let Your Beer Age?

I don't usually set out to age any of my kegs but having said that a keg may be carbonated and sitting in the fridge waiting for another keg to be finished. This can vary from a couple of days to 4-6 weeks. The other time a keg may get aged is if I don't have enough room in the fridge. If this...

    Its All Your Fault!

Well, 4 days after entering the keg yesterday it began leaving it. And I must say I'm VERY happy with the outcome. I'm not terribly good at describing beers but I'II give it a go. Its quite bitter but not too much and seems to be well balanced. And the hop flavour and aroma is fantastic. The...

    Its All Your Fault!

Thanks Screwtop. Yeah I do keg and I have a spare keg waiting for it. This weekend will be spent racking it and making room in the fridge for it. :chug: It will be in the keg sooner rather than later. :D Scott

    Brewing Whilst Under The Influence?

A bit like Darren, usually half way thru the boil. Started earlier a couple of times but it just gets messy. :( Scott

    Its All Your Fault!

I was warned about the slippery slope but I obviously didn't listen because yesterday my first All Grain was born. :D Thank you to everyone on this forum for your knowledge and information which enabled me to have a 'relatively' stress free day. :beerbang: It was great to finally get stuck...
