I brewed up a version of the "Hazy Trucker" and it turned out great. Was very popular amongst a group of mates who's response was along the lines of "Holy ****, this is amazing".
The main substitution was Mosiac instead of Equanot and I used Safale K-97 yeast to maximise haze. I used the grains...
On topic/off topic question. Where do all these second hand kegs at retailers come from? I can understand gumtree type ex-user sales, but why so many through retailers who also sell new?
When I asked my wife why the yeast in our bread maker behaves so differently to the yeast in my fermenter, she rolled her eyes and went into a long detailed spiel I cant remember, but involved "All trees aren't the same are they". She's a Doctor of Biology/Immunology ;)
She was actually keen to...
That's why forums ***** over the now more popular Fecebook groups. Try digging up a useful Facebook group post that you remembered from last week.......
Happy to see so many taste buds align on that Aldi beer
Most recent shocker was Aldi's "North of Nowhere Pale Ale". Thin, nothing, with an odd taste. A mate had bought it and was complaining as well, so I made up some hop tea and hop bombed the bottles. At least it smelt good after that.
For Perth people, Brewmart will be doing a Robobrew 3 vs Guten brew day in October. They are also seliing the Guten now for $380. Local purchase at that price is very tempting.

I've been a member for years. Sure there is a level of marketing BS, but the smaller and start-up wineries that it supports are real. Once you are a member you can take a holiday from the monthly direct debits or have them reduced. I'm currently paying $20 per month and buy a dozen from them...
Till earlier this year I was just lurking, since 2010!
As a can brewer I just used to scan the forum for recipes and tips. Didn't think I could add much. Now that I'm grain brewing I'm digging in hard to the forum for tips, hacks and advice. Such a great resource, we need to keep forums alive...
Yes the brass nozzle is just a push fit into the head of the sprayer. I pulled it out with pliers and put it in the end of the 8mm hose. To connect the hose to the sprayer head I luckily found a bit of perfect sized plastic pipe to use as a a joint.
Like others have mentioned, I'm a bit...
Interesting. I was just searching up the DIY/hack beer dispenser here.

I'm just weighing up the wife's reaction on either:
Kogan - "Not more barely used devices cluttering the kitchen"
DIY - "Not more of your...
The glasses were about as cheap and nasty as they get, so no loss. Been an interesting physics lesson for both the nucleation of the CO2 and the stress inbuilt in the glasses.
Will just go buy a set methinks ;)
I have a couple great nucleated pint glasses with laser etching on the inner base. These work great on creating/retaining a small head on my IPAs (but are a bit too active for more carbonated beers).
E.g.
So I had a "light bulb moment" on the weekend and decided to scratch the inside base...
I use the Oztrail 40l aluminium pot. (I quoted the wrong post mentioning Tentworld)

I bought it off ebay for $85...
Same here. Been running this rig since February. My first move away from brewing with cans. Allows me to sparge the grains with 3 or so litres of water and I then press the grain with a potato masher to get the last goodness out. According to the "Brewersfriend" data it has achieved 71% to 78%...
