    Food safe floats

Just to feed back these balls are not buoyant enough to float the silicone tube effectively. Have ordered some bigger balls  and will report back.

    Hi from WA

It's a personal thing, but I cut the whole top off of the one that I converted. Makes it easier to clean and no edges to catch on the bag. You just need a bigger lid. The only down side as far as I can see is that you lose the handles. Edit: Welcome aboard by the way.................

    Wine Kit Yeast

I've just bought a wine kit and am going to give wine making a go. I know that with beer kits the general advice is to ditch the yeast pack from under the can lid and use a decent yeast. Does this also apply to wine kit yeast? Second question is regarding fermentation temperatures. The kit...

    Tom Jones is still alive

I had free tickets to go and see him last night in Perth. I've never been a Tom Jones fan, but "The Boss" was keen so we went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. It was actually a great show. As an aside, for 75 Tom looks to be a lot better preserved than Keith Richards and was still...

    Please critique my porter recipe...............

I had exactly the same last year with a porter I brewed, stalled at 1020. Still a nice drop, just a tad sweeter and heavier than planned.

    Please critique my porter recipe...............

Am I mashing to high at 68? BJCP style guide states the a porter should be medium light to medium bodied.............. 12A. Brown Porter Aroma: Malt aroma with mild roastiness should be evident, and may have a chocolaty quality. May also show some non-roasted malt character in support...
