    Pumpkin Ale Recipe Check please

I've got a batch bubbling away at the moment and I've clearly gone much heavier on the spices, for a 23L batch (all grain at about 7%) I used: 4 tsp Dutch Cinnamon (not as harsh as the regular stuff) 1 tsp Ginger 1 tsp Allspice 1 tsp Nutmeg All were the pre powdered stuff (ie hoyts) so...

    Keg bulk buy

If the kegs have arrived at store I could probably nip in today and pick up a few for the people who are only available this weekend (ie Blue Doors), KK is only 5 minutes from my office.

2014 Vic Xmas in July case swap

I've brewed enough that I have a few bottles extra for testing (minus the one I dropped yesterday), I guess I figured I can always brew it again so I'm not bothered if I don't take my own home.

2014 Vic Xmas in July case swap

Feel free to call me a ******** if I've gotten this arse about but if we have 24 case swappers each brewing 24 longnecks doesn't that mean that we are each going to be taking home one longneck of our own brew? If so would it make more sense to have 25 swappers each taking home 24 longnecks (ie...

    Dark Pale Ale

I've been playing around with roasting raw wheat at home, havent gotten anything as black as the midnight wheat yet but having another go tonight, if I can get it to my liking I'll be trying it in a black IPA. So far the roasted raw wheat comes out tasting like toast, makes me want a vegimite...

    Gluten Free Brewing With Enzymes

Had some more positive feedback on the "maybe gluten free" kolsch from another coeliac last night, he had 4 375ml stubbies and no ill effects (and was very complimentary about the taste :) ), looks like he'll be an easy convert to the home brewing world. I've got 2 more testers lined up, will...

    Gluten Free Brewing With Enzymes

Tested a couple of bottles of "maybe gluten free" kolsch on my coeliac mate last night, he reported no ill effects. He tells me if he drinks a stubbie of normal beer he usually can make it all the way through before he gets pains in his stomach. I sent him home with 24 bottles for further...

    Good yeast for a porter

I made a stout using the Wyeast Belgian Saison 3724 last year and really enjoyed the mix of the saison characters and the roastyness. I reckon you should give it a go.
