Yes, tip the storage solution away and then rinse the probe under tap water and then recalibrate with appropriate solutions....I use PH 4 and PH 7 to calibrate for mash PH.

The supplier of my PH meter suggested that I may use PH 4 calibration solution for storage. Works for me.

    Braumeister - Tips & Tricks

I started with the hood and the hop sock at around the same time and didnt notice much difference. I dont have a boil inside the hop sock and like you, i give the hops a stir inside the sock if they have clumped to the sides. I only ever use pellets since I began to use the sock and to be honest...

I use a hop spider and have not noticed any real increase with the hood. Maybe there is an increase and the spider counteracts the effect. Just thinking aloud.....

    Grumpy's at Verdun.

I believe that Andrew Schultz son now is heavily involved in the business. Grumpy Thomas now works at Winequip and Grumpy Dave I believe is or at least was in Victoria last I heard from him which was many years ago. I have not been to Grumpys for quite some time myself. Those links above are...

Knurling on a Mashmaster Mini Mill

Thank you for your input and comments. I crush grain for other brewers as well as myself and at the moment I have only done it for myself with a BM and one other with a BM. With a setting of close to 1mm we are achieving approximately the same Mash Efficiency that we were getting with the...

    Grumpy's at Verdun.

I actually went onto the Grumpy website and it is virtually useless. No links...no beer info.... Nothing really but their address A shame really, particularly considering that they would be paying for the web page. Let us know how you go at the venues you get to spog... I will be in Adelaide...

Knurling on a Mashmaster Mini Mill

I have closed mine down to 1mm and my mate is getting 77% to 78% MASH EFFICIENCY in his BM 20 I did a brew at around 1.1mm and got 77% on my BM. I am interested to see if we get an increase with the fluted rollers. When I finally brew again I will report back. I would appreciate BrissyBrews...

    Braumeister - Tips & Tricks

Zoigl has indicated that he weighed his water to get the correct volume. After a personal experience using plastic jugs I must agree that weighing water is the way to go. Some mark the centre rod..I personally made a hang over the side dipstick which indicates voume markings by weight. Some have...
