You ever get up the Sunny Coast at all Rowy? Sunshine Coast Brewery do a Rye ESB. It a decent beer, was always my go to when I was working at the bar. Should be able to find it no worries in Brissy, if not, give Greg a call at the brewery and see if you can get some sent down. Dave

    3 Ravens Brewery Closes

So, the word around the camp fire is that 3 Ravens brewery has closed down. Can't find any stories on it or a statement from them, but seeing as their brewery is on Greys Online, i'd say it's all done and dusted. 3 Ravens - Greys Online The ad says it's because the building that housed them...

    Perfect Beer Project

Nothing but a marketing exercise from Casella. They already know exactly what the beer they are planning to make is. The market research would have been do yonks ago, the beer would be costed down to the cent, the marketing would already be planned, etc and so on. The idea that Casella and...

    Anyone Working/worked In Hospitality

For what it's worth, you should be doing a labour budget after you've finished all your other budgets and projections. No point working out how much you need to staff if all the other things aren't done (maybe you have done them, you haven't said). By that I mean What type of bar will you be...

    Anyone Working/worked In Hospitality

No way your wages would be that high. You'd have to taking over $100,000 a week to cover it :o Your staffing assumptions are way off. PM me your email address.

Ahh, you're doing a business plan. I see now. Remember that your kitchen staff will generally cost you much more than the award rate. Don't pay a flat $21, it will hurt your business through staffing issues. I would love to see your figures once finished. Paying efficiency wages in hospitality...

    Glass Drying Cloth/towel

Try Spotlight. Not sure exactly what fabric it is, but they sell great polishing cloths there that restaurants use for wine glasses.

    Anyone Working/worked In Hospitality

Yep, true that. We had someone from FWA last year say something along the lines of "mate, I've been doing this for years, and I can't work any of it out" *sigh*

Nah, just found them on seek. There are a couple of industry awards, but most of them are similar. When the government changed it all in 2010, they stream lined a lot of things. But what your looking for would be something like this Hospitality (General) Industry Award 2010 Section 7 - Award...

Alright, quick looky and I found the following, should give you an idea of what is being paid in Perth. Good to remember too that Perth is going gangbusters still, all those thirsty miners and all :icon_cheers: Belgian Beer Cafe (ALH) - $20-25 Seasons of Perth - $15-25 (PT or casual) Ibis...

    Anyone Working/worked In Hospitality

It is legit, yes. A business can whatever it wants above award rates, but your end of week pay must pass a 'no disadvantage' test. For example, if your casual, and should be getting say, for instance, $21.50 during the week, $26 on Saturday and $29 Sunday, then they can pay a flat of say, $25...

    Anyone Working/worked In Hospitality

Oh, and many might pay an 'above award' rate as a flat rate all week. The idea is they have fixed costs and it should work out even/better for you. Whether it does or not is another story

    Anyone Working/worked In Hospitality

Honestly depends on where you work. Like all markets, some pay really well, some shitefull. The $16.57 is the base rate, before loading, so add your 20-25% for Mon-Fri, 50% for Sat then 75% for Sun. The loadings are probably a bit smaller than that, because they are slowly getting fazed out...
