Cheers Nath. Yeah the sound changes but it's not screaming just a bit higher pitched. What do you use for fly sparging? Also, is it ok the throttle the outlet ball valve right down to a trickle without damaging the chugger?

Would I need 2 chugger pumps for that to work? I'm trying to use my LBP for sparge water.

Forgot to say the little brown pump is circulating the strike and sparge water. Still need to source a sparge arm of some sort. Would love a Phil's sparge arm if anyone has one they want sell. Cheers[emoji481][emoji481]

It's alive! Just gave it a dry run with water and Phosphoric. The gas fired HLT heated 45 Ltrs of water from 20c to 78c in about 1 Hr. pumped into Mash Tun and held temperature within 3 degrees for over an hour by wrapping it up with a few towels. Should do for now until I sort out a RIMS. One...

EOI Stainless Perforated Sheet for false bottom

Picked them up this morning. Looks good, if anything slightly flimsy but after cutting out a 300mm diameter circle it will do the job nicely. I'll probably have some left over if anyone wants or if you want full sheets he has a few left. $100 a sheet in the end, bargain. [emoji106]. PM me if you...

EOI Stainless Perforated Sheet for false bottom

I'm heading down there tomorrow and as long as all goes to plan I'll grab two sheets. Both sheets will be pretty much spoken for. I will probably have some small bits to share but if he has more available I'll give his details to anyone interested. Cheers.

Ok. They are 2m x 900mm for $120. $60 each for 1m x900. How's that sound Mardoo? Dunno how many sheets he has. I'll find out if anyone else wants some. He's located in Epping.

EOI Stainless Perforated Sheet for false bottom

I just spoke to him again this morning, he said he thinks he has a few sheets of the 2.4m x 900mm , 1mm thick 2mm hole size. Forgot to ask the pitch measurement. They are $150 a sheet cos they are an odd size sheet (normally 2.4 x 1.2m sheets). I'll head down there today probably and if they...

What are you brewing in 2017 ?

Sure did. Put through a 1 micron filter. We have great Bore water up here. Local farmers pump it out and truck it to Coca Cola by the tanker load so it can't be too bad.

What are you brewing in 2017 ?

Full Bore IPA. BIAB Named because I had to empty my water tank and refill it with Bore water as it went skanky. Mainly due to me being lazy and not cleaning the gutters often enough. Also because of my Insulation / Old Surfboard cover Cheers[emoji481][emoji481]

VIC 2016 Xmas in July Case Swap - TASTING

Better late than never. Just discovered a couple of PET bottles lurking up the back of the beer fridge. 19. Midnights Dry Irish Stout. Beautiful Stout mate! My tasting notes have not improved over the last couple of years so no fancy comments but, this is a well brewed well balanced beer. Dry...

Side by side fridge and external thermostat

If you have your fermenters and temperature probe in the fridge section the freezer section will just be a lot colder. Not much you can do about it. I have a side by side and just store my flasks and bits and pieces in the freezer section.

Slowly piecing it together. Just waiting on a few bits and pieces from Ebay then gotta sort out my false bottom. Got my chugger the other day and was wondering how everyone goes about connecting to the 3/4" inlet? Was thinking of reducing straight to 1/2" then a 1/2" ball valve and cam lock or...

    Food Gardening

Logan berries. I think? Absolutely delicious. Especially with ice cream. Havnt bothered netting them this year and the birds have left them alone luckily. If you can wait until they are black they are sensational. Little bit red is ok though.
