So, I Wrote A Letter To Coles

Call me a stick in the mud but Woolies can f@#$k off. They are heavily invested in gambling. No pokies in WA. That's why we're all rich :D

    What Is Your Main Manliness

I started a Riot at the motorcycle grand prix when it was at Bathurst. This bag of orange peels behind the juice caravan just whispered "throw me at someone" so I did. 20 mins later it was cans of gravel at the riot cops. True story.

    Continuing Jokes Thread

"Nurse, Nurse ! " the patient cried, " I've got a problem with my penis" The nurse came over with a cynical look on her face and said "well you'd better show it to me then" So the guy drops his pyjamas to reveal a penis the size of a AAA battery, the nurse just cracks up laughing but quickly...

    Beer Clean Glassware.

One of the things that really pisses me off is paying top dollar for some exotic beer that I’d like to try only to have it poured into a filthy glass that kills it before it’s even hit the top ! I’ve been very vocal about it at local bars especially when it’s in their own interests to have the...

    Belgian Candi Sugar - CONFUSED!!

I know a guy on his third boat, hardly goes sailing just likes building yachts. I love to diy up to a point, and the point is when I struggle to get close to a bought item especially when that bought item is relatively cheap. Why struggle ? However if the item is rare, expensive or has no...

    Licorice in stout?

I made a medicinal stout, liquorice root, fennel and star anise. Tasted like cough mixture. Didn’t like it myself but it was my side of an exchange deal and he loved it so all good.

    Belgian Candi Sugar - CONFUSED!!

Only going in what I've read recently after reading this topic it appears that getting colour from the Maillard reactions rather than caramelisation is the key to more complex flavours so on that front this method is spot on, questions still remain wether beet sugar is the key to authenticity...

    Belgian Candi Sugar - CONFUSED!!

I guess my candy maker just made me invert hard crac then. So next question is, how authentic is the stuff being flogged by home brew shops ? Is it the fully imported from Belgium the genuine article?

    Minimal BIAB RIMS setup

Fair point, probably solvable but more complexity. Induction plate is good, more compact and cheap.

    Minimal BIAB RIMS setup

Just an Idea. Has anyone used a Microwave oven for their heating element ? So you put a couple of plastic bulkhead screws in oven wall, connect a few loops of tubing depending on how much you want to heat at a time, turn on pump, turn on microwaves Zap ⚡️ scorch free heating ! I know, mental right.

    Food Gardening

I’m in Fremantle just grey water repellant sand ! I use clay cat litter to put some water retention in the soil but keeping gardens fed is a constant battle, returning to brewing will help that, spent grain is great soil builder !

    GUTEN

Probably because I haven’t seen one working yet, I’ve seen an assembled one, (Robobrew) but not a working one And I have a boiler and a hlt already. My “current “ system (the one stashed in the garage) has a stainless bucket that floats in the boiler for a mash tun, so lots of stirring and...

Further; What do you think about using it purely as a mash tun by removing the malt pipe ? I guess the screens would have to be wider yes ?

    Anyone here do app development?

Yeah, so, a year on, how did it go ?

    GUTEN

My assumption is that using an overhead hlt I can use the Guten as a masher/lauter and run off into another boiler, which then opens up the possibility of starting another mash straight away while the first one boils.
