    try: When fermenting / crashing put a lump of wood / plastic cutting board etc under the tap side of the fermenter tilting it back so hops settle away from tap. out of interest how long had hops been in there / cold crash?

    are you fully pulling the "trigger" on the gun sticking it under the beer in the glass as fast as possible i run about 1.2m of i think 5mm or 6mm line I pull the trigger fully pour down the side and stick it into the bottom of the glass under beer ASAP if i want a bit more head (dont we all)...

    i reckon it wont slide out, they slot them in and braze at the back to the rest of the piping it might pop out and maybe bend down but you run the risk of cracking the pipe and ruining it. go with the jerry

    basic answer you chuck the "dry" hops in "at some point" into the fermenter then cold crash to 0 deg to drop the hops/yeast out to the bottom of the fermenter for a few days you bottle as normal a yummy dry hopped ale i assume u r fermenting in a fridge

    i would be storing in cold 18L kegs and then transferring to the 4L using co2 from 18L out post to 4L out post half filled fermenters does not sound good to me.... as you will pull in oxygen when you transfer if just using gravity = buy your self some more 18L kegs + maybe a bigger keg fridge...

    I got some ages back at the Andale store in Brisbane, there is one in Mascot SYD. 2nd hand, they just went out to there storage area found some and helped me out. https://www.andale.com.au/ you could also maybe cut away some plastic and foam from inside fridge door?

    pickling onions questions

    Been looking at some old threads as i want to do some PO's :) From my reading it does not need to be done "hot" to make a vacuum / pasturise in the jar? Is that right ? Is there any reason i cannot do these in a sealed plastic container if i wanted to do some bigger batches? thanks
