    Huh?

FWIW, I was in contact with a former very knowledgeable and popular veteran AHB member. If the shabbiness with which he was treated is indicative of the way admin handled other members, who objectively contributed much knowledge over the years, then I wouldn't expect your inbox to be flooded...

    Huh?

Is that right? Kind of lazy. Perhaps a group e mail would have had more outreach. As someone who has taken way more in terms of advice then they've given, would have been nice to have said thanks, for what its worth. A shame, but inevitable.

    Black Pudding.

Blood doesn't appear that hard to come by. Pure Pig Blood - Berkshire Black - Hand Sourced They've got all the nasty bits. Roasted marrow bones anybody? Just the ticket to drive my LDL into double digits over Christmas.. https://www.handsourced.com.au/product/wild-venison-sambar-marrow-bones/

Thinking about a DIY wood fired oven-suggestions?

It's an enormous 'it depends' in my book. I like using mine - occasionally, but in hindsight, I came to realize pretty much any configuration of cooking, fire, beer, and being outdoors would suffice. The one shown is an off the shelf unit I got at a very good price. It does the job, however...

    Black Pudding.

You should make life even more difficult for yourself and have a crack at Haggis. Boiled in a wee sheep's belly.

    The cigar thread

Cafe Crème's use to be my go to. More a 'cigarillo' than cigar tho. Great option unless your guests want to run around doing Groucho Marx impersonations. Pretty inoffensive, classy little tin, run you about $30 per box of 10. Go great with a porter or stout or large cappuccino.

    Brew-pub woes in Melbourne

I feel the blood pressure rising.. My business manufactures and supplies pretty much all one needs to pull a shed of any size out of the ground. I'll paraphrase how many of the conversations go: Me: So, this goin through council mate? Client: Ha!..Nope..

    Brew-pub woes in Melbourne

..breaths in through clenched teeth.. harsh.. We're under BHSC here. Are you implying it didn't actually require three visits from two representatives from the 'pool safety squad' and a highly detailed five page report in A4 display folder complete with photos and recommendations, plus two...

Heat pump water heater rebates for Victorians

And may I say, they are, without a doubt, the most useless cunce I've dealt with at a customer service level. And for an energy provider, that's some accomplishment.

    Microbrewery DeadSpace Question?

Put it this way, my Guten has seven litres under the false bottom. I generally allow three litres per kilo of grain in the mash. So for five kilos of grain its twenty two total, simply fifteen litres plus seven. The rest goes to sparge. Easy as pissing on your hand. As mentioned, full volume...

Is it just me, or is it REALLY expensive to buy commercially made wine and beer? lol

Blame your (and our) government. They're huge on sin tax. I found the beer prices (at least on the south island) earlier this year to be pretty much on a par with Aud prices. Crafties were still pricy, though more seemed to be 'on sale'. Found a few bargains on Tuatara and Macs here and there...

Heat pump water heater rebates for Victorians

Both stayed in and passed through Canberra twice in the past couple of weeks. It had been a while. Must say, I really love what the locals have done (particularly along Northbourne Ave) with covering everything in graffiti and leaving those purple scooters laying all over the place.

Heat pump water heater rebates for Victorians

For what it's worth, I just **** canned AGL after they simultaneously reduced the feed in tariff and ramped up kwh rate and went with China Light and Power, erm.. I mean, Energy Australia, as both rates were slightly better. 10 kw system. Seems much like the insurance racket, energy suppliers...

Heat pump water heater rebates for Victorians

Yeah, but the thing is they don't go broke. They just pass the bill onto the taxpayer under the guise of some 'green levy' or whatever. In the current frenzy of universal greenwashing, it's difficult to push back. 'What? You don't support green energy? We're all in this together! We're working...

Not that I'm aware, contrary to what folk who flog hydrogen generators for your car would have you believe.. It's all about 'work in, work out' kind of thing in terms of efficiency, at least as I understand it. Takes a whole lot less energy to spin up a tiny compressor and fan than to power...

Heat pump water heater rebates for Victorians

As a former plumer, and after getting about seventy five thousand phone calls from Indian chaps over the last year or so I took a closer look. On the face of it it looks all beer and skittles. But as always, 'it depends'. For starters, they take way longer to reheat than standard electric /...
