Cheers guys. I'll go skim through the thread again.

Yep! Way cooler than a beer machine. There is nothing in their (WW) literature that states you have to use the kits. I'm not going to comment on his advice because I feel that he's based it on the market he's selling to. Business is business and there's no logic in sending yourself broke. At...

It was a serious question. If you take away the cost element, how does the system rate?

    Williamswarn Personal Brewery

I guess the real proof is in how it tastes. I'd drink it to find out. I wonder, if it was priced at $1k would people still be as harsh on the product? The BM seems ridiculously overpriced to me, so I guess this falls into the same category. In true AHB style, could someone point out where to...

Did you read the instruction manual Dicko? It has plenty of pictures and things to give you a fair idea of what's going on inside. It's one nifty bit of kit that seems to be very well made and thought out. I just can't see the cost making it accessible to the average punter. If you've got the...

Lion introduces "Tap King" - party keg / growlers

Never a waste of time. Now you can work on draining that keglette for real. Maybe it would be a good idea for someone to start a TK for HB "problems and solutions" thread? Plenty of people on this site to help people along.

Lion introduces "Tap King" - party keg / growlers

I'd take you up on that bet if I could Barls! I've got the real cause of the problem figured out now. It's a hard reality, one that we all have to deal with at some stage of our kegging/keglette careers. Your keg is dry mate, and your probably quite pissed right now. Yes, you feel like there...

Could it be that the dip tub has come off?

Lion introduces "Tap King" - party keg / growlers

If it's that over carbed I don't think the regulator trick will work very well. Better to do the upside down bottle trick. By the sounds of it you may actually have an infected batch that has dropped well below the expected FG. Does it taste ok? To access the regulator you can just cut/drill a...

Lion introduces "Tap King" - party keg / growlers

I would be looking at temperature and carbonation levels. It sounds like you over carbed the beer as that's pretty much what happens with a normal keg. Like Barls said, you can adjust the reg to help reduce the foaming. Another trick would be to back the reg right back, turn the on it's head...

Are new fridges more efficient ?

Ok. So, I've had a good look at the fridge downstairs. It's drawing 0.9 amps, so it should be enough to do the job. Is there any reason why there would be gas lines in the partition between the fridge and freezer compartment? I'm pretty sure with some basic mods to the fridge I can squeeze...

Are new fridges more efficient ?

Hmmm. Can't believe I missed your post Kev. I've been following your power usage thread for a while now. Unfortunately, the large fridge has been put out to pasture. A very large machine chewed it up yesterday afternoon, shortly after I decided it was too long a day already. Rest in pieces...

Are new fridges more efficient ?

Food for thought there guys. I might end up buying a newer fridge to suit in the end. It just seems a shame to ditch this one. It's a westinghouse RJ412G-1 with shirtloads of room. Probably 15 years old and still going strong. 2.0amps @ 240v is probably why it chews the juice. It would be...

Are new fridges more efficient ?

Hi all, I've been playing around with a few fridges lately in an attempt to have cold beer on tap. No great feat in itself, but I'm pretty concerned about the actual cost of power for running an extra fridge in the garage. Tomorrow I have the option of acquiring a largish fridge freezer that...

    110V-220VAC stc1000

Totally agree with the above comment. (Wish the quote function was working with the WE upgrade!). I was rained off today and have just finished making a new controller for my keg fridge. It's a 220vac unit only. Maybe it's fine to run on both if the on board electronics and relays can handle...

Using 8g CO2 soda bulbs in your Tap King

Taste is a personal thing. Many styles of beer will taste just fine with a little sediment. Just do it and see what you think. The bottle needs to be below 4c before it will work as intended. You can tweak the regulator to adjust the unit from factory settings if you want.

Using 8g CO2 soda bulbs in your Tap King

sticksy, Both bulk priming and adding sugar directly to the bottle will work. It really depends on what you want from the finished product. Personally, I find bulk priming easier. If you naturally carb the beer you'll end up with more sediment than force carbing. Simple as that.

Using 8g CO2 soda bulbs in your Tap King

It's too early in the morning to crack a bottle of wine and find out! :drinks: Just compare the cork to the diameter of a 5c piece. It doesn't really matter what you use as a spacer, as long as it does the job. Freebasebuzz, I just noticed your post on drilling out the plastic to accept the...

Keeping a wheat beer cloudy ?

Hi Guys, Sorry for the late reply but the multi quote function doesn't seem to work any more and the only reply I saw in my email was " Drink it quicker". Thanks MXD. No problems in that regard! I'm definitely in the borderline alcoholic category and my 70% pale wheaty is not helping. Tidal, I...
