    Keezer condenser cooling

If its an old second hand freezer, it may be worth while getting it regassed. Compressors have a cut out switch that if it becomes too hot, it will cut off for a bit. Generally, your keezer won't be getting this hot unless it's really old and either, sitting outside on your roof or practically...

    Nothing but foam

Two identical brews in two identical kegs with lines to suit. I force carbed both the same way for the same time. One keg pours perfectly, the other, just foam. I swapped over the lines and taps thinking I may of had a blockage restricting the flow and creating higher pressure, but no. No off...

    2 x 120L(ish) plastic drums wanted, Sydney

Dropped in there yesterday and they are having a 2 for 1 sale. Need to clear out some room. But still, throw an extra few dollars if you can. Their profits go back into the local groups there, especially the Men's Shed.

Is 100% Granny Smith juice ok for cider?

In the end, try a sample before you purchase and start your batch. Don't forget a good yeast starter too. I've been adding some really nice honey to each batch I make. There's a really good Ginger Beer Factory in Morpeth that sell hundreds of different honeys. Add 1kg of honey to your batch of...

    boiling v steeping hops

I'm currently putting together a leftover kit of coops pale ale and nelson sav hops. Boiling the hops for ten then putting it n the mix. Is there a noticeable taste if I was to steep them as I would with grains at 65 deg instead of boiling?

    Warming my fermentation fridge.

When I had my fermenting chamber out in the shed at the old place, I scored an old small hairdryer at a garage sale. Modded it to my controller and it worked a treat. Could maintain an easy temp range all through winter

You know you are hooked when...

When the manager of your local supermarket actually comes up to you after noticing that you have been the only person buying kit cans and additives over the past year, then asks if you would like to buy the remaning stock at a really, REALLY good price. Then asks you if you can show him how to...
