Damn they _do_ look good! :icon_drool2: I usually get pickled pork hocks to make them - Boil for a bit with spices, then bung it in the oven to crisp up. Hmm... might have to make some next weekend.....

    Children And Binge Drinking

Hehe.. Like how milk kills people: 100% of people who drank milk as a child, will die. A lit of people miss the correlation =/= causation thing....

Ah yeah. And what do you do for a living? You may want to consider the news cycle and how it relates to the scientific community. (Seems unfortunately closer to the truth than I'd like)

    Urgent!

Close...... Mostly the waitresses in the beerhalls are middle aged women (very strong middle aged women given how much they cart about!), but the young Bavarian lasses that you typically find dressed up in traditional garb drinking the beer are a sight to see!

    Best Beer Experiences In Europe

Yeah, often a pretty good indicator of the type of crowd they get in there. Carpeted ones tend to be a little more civilized than the rowdy ones where they need hard mop-able floors. Again, I suppose it depends on what you look for in a pub.....

    Best Beer Experiences In Europe

If you're at all interested in brewing, and going to be in Munich the week before oktoberfest, get yourself to drinktec. Fun times! All the shiny brewing equipment and associated bits you could ever want to see, and free beer. (I'm a little dark that I won't be able to get to this one...

    Best Beer Experiences In Europe

The Hobrahaus in Munich is a dingy touristy **** hole. Avoid it like the plague. Either of the Augustine halls, or the beer garden are much nicer. Actually, there are several really good beer halls in Munich, it's just the hofbrahaus isn't one of them. :) (You may find otherwise, depending...

The Increasingly Mis-named Range Of Aussie Beers

Yep. Most people who drink the stuff (VB etal) couldn't give a rats arse what it tastes like, so long as it fits the brand. Remembera story froma tour of CUB Abbotsford mentioning that sales dropped, and complaints increased when they changed the packaging on VB.

What Is A Beer Nerd ?

Found out I'm a beer nerd the other night, whilst trying to buy beer in Mildura.... managed to get into an argument with the bottle-o staff about the heat shock residue in the bottom of the bottles of german lager. (They were trying to tell me german pilsners were bottle conditioned, hence the...
