    S-04 yeast.

Ok, I'm with you. Sort of like Nottingham strips hop flavour and US05 is a diacetyl monster..............

    S-04 yeast.

^^ Yes, that's all very well, but it doesn't explain why some people have trouble with S04 and not with other yeasts. Is S04 more susceptible to these shortcomings? BTW, I have never had trouble with S04.

Cheap kit beer.. but with body?

Nice description. Then if you go a kit plus a kg of dry malt, to me tastes like beer flavoured lemonade with a bitter twang. I think 5-600g ldme and 4-500g dextrose (not table sugar) plus some specialty grains is the trick.

I wonder if WW would make you sign a gag order before giving you a refund after it has blown up and given you third degree burns.............

Brew day - back in Aus... Coopers "family secret" amber ale

Fortunately you used US05 because if you used the kit yeast there is a good chance it would not have worked if you had one of the affected tins. Coopers had trouble with the new Family Secret Amber, Bootmaker Pale, and Brew A IPA. A lot of the yeasts did not take off. I assume they are in the...

    Double dissolution

Can't argue with that! I think Barnaby will be under strict rules about what he says and when. I can see him now, witthering on and a crook coming from the side lines grabbing him around the neck.....

Kogan buys Dick Smith's Online Division

I went into a DSE shop the other day to check out their mega reduced final sale. Even on a final closing down liquidation sale they were not even very competitive. A few things like tablet and phone covers were 70% off but TVs and such were only 20% off. You can get that much off at harvey's...

Australia - The Republic and stuff

Get rid of that nasty Queen. Telling us what to do every minute of the day. I think we should adopt the American system..............   A bit like our election system now. More like a high school popularity ballot than anything to do with policy. Kevin 07 springs to mind.

Kogan buys Dick Smith's Online Division

That's what I thought. As stated, should be illegal. So should trading while insolvent as the big companies going under all do. "What? We are $200 million in the ****. I am certain we were ok up till yesterday...."

WTF are CO2 tanks so expensive here?

For years people have been getting bent over and reamed from companies like BOC. It figures that anyone selling bottles has no reason to sell them any cheaper than they do. When we look at the shut off valve on on the top of a Keg King bottle we see CGA 320 which is the US thread. We get...

Kogan buys Dick Smith's Online Division

I bet he got it for a song. I wonder if he will honor DSE gift cards for the full amount as against $25.00

Two cars written-off in 3 weeks - Still standing!

I think these driving schools have something to answer for. I see too many young drivers doing the same things and making the same mistakes for it to have been taught to them by their parents. I propose a data base that links young drivers to their instructors. If a certain instructor's...
