Stainless fermenter options? - Brewbucket, Oil Drums etc

Brew bucket. I like the cone. Even though its not a real conical it helps to drop the yeast out. I did change the valve for a 4 peice ball valve (3/8" i think?) because the one that comes with can be a bit leaky at inconvenient times. Could be me though.

Stainless fermenter options? - Brewbucket, Oil Drums etc

The mangrobe jack ss 23lt fermenters are under $200. Ive got a oil drum and a brew bucket. I love both but one thing ive noticed with the oil drum is that the lid can get stuck under pressure. I put a weldless keg post on the lid so i am able to de pressurise it and get it off when its empty...

And dont take the glass out when you take the cap off. It wont go back in properly.

If anyones wondering the sight glass is not 1/2". A bit of 1/2" threaded tube slips right over the sheild if you screw the top cap off. But a 1/2" threaded valve does screw onto the cap thread. Its not a wobbly lose fit either. Its pretty tight. With a bit of tape its very snug and water tight...

    Ph meter

Same as the one I have. Works great until I got lazy and stopped using it. You do have to keep an eye on the probe to make sure it doesn't dry out. The cap only holds a few drops of storage solution. Don't keep it in a hot garage if you can. [emoji18]

    Ph meter

I stopped using my $50 one a while ago basically because I couldn't be assed buying the calibration stuff all the time and also the storage solution seems to be expensive. They are high maintenance IMHO and a continuous cost. Edit: I haven't looked for a while but the buffer solution looks...

    Whats In The Glass

100% (light) Munich lager. Saaz to 30 IBU. I had it in the cube for way longer than it should have been but it still came out OK. Very malty as you'd expect but it only went in the keg yesterday. Needs a a touch more carbing and a few weeks more but it's surprisingly balanced. Not a malt bomb...

I got it sorted. It turns out Powell Industrial is right around the corner from work. I payed 3 times more than I would off the net but it's good to know where to go in a pinch. Impatients is not a virtue.
