For anyone who is wondering about customer service. When i bought my 30lt it had a faulty pump straight out of the box. Its the same pump as the GF. I sent them a vid of the faulty pump not working and they sent me a pump no questions. I think they are keen to have a good rep for service in case...

Session Ipa with Windsor yeast - soapy/milky off taste

I have fermented cubed beers after year and they have been... ok... but definitely not the beer it would have been fresh. Hop bitterness is one thing i have noticed really falls away. I gues hop flavour and aroma would do the same. Maybe the hop flavour could change a bit and even produce an off...

Kegmenter. Are they good to use?

I just bought a new one from Grain and Grape so its just a regular dip tube. It's in a "through the wall" keg post from GnG as well. That goes in to a 1/4" to 1/2" adapter, then in to a 1/2" T peice and then into a 1/2" to 2" tri clover. Same for the gas post.

I got this up and running over the weekend on a 50lt keg. I already had some of the parts but the whole lot would be about $100 all up.

    Thinking of ditching hop socks

I use a hop bag but a very big one so the hops can swim around. I lime using the bag so i can squeeze out all the wort at the end. I use a silicone glove so i end up with a solid ball of used hops. I have read on here that the hops can help hold the trub cone together after a whirlpool. So...

    New research on dry yeast

Basically the new research mentioned in this vid says that putting dry yeast directly in to your wort works just as well as re hydrating it. It also says that aerating your wort (no mention of 02) is bad for the yeast. Its basically says its like giving it a sugar hit. It works well while on the...

    Different wort aeration kits

From memory he has said that it may not be necessary to use an air stone, or at least it wont be much different without one, and that yeast or the wort can get O2 from the surface of the wort. Dont quote me here :D Sent from my VTR-L09 using Aussie Home Brewer mobile app
