    Cask and Hand-pump

Or go one better and just use a bbq lpg reg connected to co2 as a cask breather. The only reason i can see you would do that is if your pump isnt fitted with a demand valve.

    Cask and Hand-pump

You still need a tap with a restrictor for previous method not flow control. They are often called stout faucets. Some taps have provision for a restrictor, possibly intertap is one. Another cheap and cheerfully way is to make a Bronx pump from either a water sprayer or a caravan water pump...

    Cask and Hand-pump

Came out in their last quarterly newsletter from the last annual conference. Below is a copy of the motion and a link to the article. CAMRA now neutral on "cask breathers" Members decided to change CAMRA's policy on "cask breathers" - devices used in pub cellars to lengthen the life of cask...

I often collect yeast for a following brew. No prob. Just slightly aggitate the film on the top of the sludge after coldcrashing with a few mm of remaining beer. It will turn cloudy and pour that into the next brew. It may have a tiny amount of hop matter in it but that will just sink to the...

    No flow through beer line

My guess would be a partial blockage somewhere else in the system. Distorted washer under a post? bit of hop matter lodged in a poppet? Dodgy dissconnect?

    Cask and Hand-pump

Simply put there is relatively little restriction in the line compared to across the restrictor/sparkler that variations in the line length are relatively low in comparison. The c02 reg will govern flow to maintain the set pressure. The pressure in the line regardless of length (to a degree )...

    Cask and Hand-pump

No it doesnt work that way because as soon as you have flow the static pressure drops and the line pressure drop across the hose would pail into insignificence compared to the restrictor. There is a poor mans way to do it but it wastes a bit of gas. You simply crank the reg up to 30psi. Pour...

    Cask and Hand-pump

Camra accepts co2 breathers now. And the floating dip or widget is a good suggestion. Personally i would just use a cube if i were to go that route.

I mucked round with all that stuff but now just throw em in when pitching the yeast. Cold crash before kegging and they all sink to the bottom. You het more flavour out of em this way.

Fitting a sparkler to a standard tap wont work very well as you need more pressure. This is what smoothflow is all about. Eg. John smith. Guinness.smithwicks. The hand pump increases the pressure at the sparkler to force the beer throught the small holes. Then you need to use cellermix gas so...

Where to get a hand pump in the uk

Pooches are no doubt damn spoilt in the UK with often the best rooms in a pub reserved for patrons with dogs. Free dog treats on the bar are common also. As for a pump being mandatory it's purely personal preference. I have been to plenty of CAMRA events/pubs where they dispense direct from the...

CAMBA Revises its view on c02

Interesting read of the latest camra changes including removed its former opposition to "cask breathers". http://www.camra.org.uk/news/-/asset_publisher/1dUgQCmQMoVC/content/camra-looks-to-the-future-as-its-members-call-for-positive-change
