Do the recirc as suggested above or if you don't have the capacity to recirc you'll need to do some maths. Like this; Just chill a set amount of the wort to whatever your chiller gets to. eg 20L knockout 4.5L @ 25C + 15.5L @ 95C = 20L @ 79.2C So you only need to pass 4.5L through your chiller...

I agree with this ^. No need for the wheat. Rarely do IPAs have wheat in them. Refer to brewing classic styles and you'll seldomly see the addition of wheat. IPAs also rarely have problems with head retention. All those hops help out there. IMO the last recipe quoted, will give you a good IPA.

Never ended up using the GP in the amber. I just tweaked it too far with bits and pieces I had at hand. Added biscuit, Munich and some wheat. Should never have done it. However, GP and 10% dark crystal would be great in my opinion. Just some nice undertones of nuttiness under the caramel.

Caraaroma is a good sub for spec b and great in an amber where you want those caramel notes to come through. With what you've got, I'd just go; 80% ale 15% Munich 5% caraaroma I got away with 10% dark crystal because I upped the bitterness to a little over 50Ibu. I think if you want the...

Yeah I concur... no waste chilling water. Just recirc back into the pool. Guilt free chilling. That's what I'd do if I had a pool.

Received my coil yesterday. Nice little unit. Will be picking up a BigW kettle today for trialling. Will just plonk the coil in and sit the whole lot in a bucket for spillage protection and safety... Or may even splurge on a small SS pot to sit it in (for bling's sake) Maybe do a trail run this...

Done this a few times myself. With my double batch rig I can push out 80L in a little over 6 hours. Dough in about 7.30 and all finished with 4 cubes at 2pm. Lovely having 2 cubes of 2 different wort sitting and waiting. If I were to attend to my kettle to watch for boil overs, I could...

Just threw 30g of aurora in a cube of ESB with EKG last night, smelt very nice. Looking forward to experiencing what the profile is like. Will dry hop with another 30 also.
