    Frustrated with end results

Good luck! It's recommend to mix cryo with regular hops for best results. I would normally do 50g cryo + 150g regular hops, spread over 2 dry hops (but lately have been toying with going even higher)

The old keg foams as the beer disappears trick

Preventing the compressor from turning on doesn't really help with the temperature issue :P

    Rochefort 10

Looks great! I've got a recipe for St Bernardus ABT 12 that I've been meaning to brew, which looks quite similar - except for colour I've got Aromatic malt (570g) and Carafa III (300g). So my only question would be, are you going to get enough colour from the caramunich & candi syrup? (also...

The old keg foams as the beer disappears trick

A good point - but the intention is also to prevent the compressor turning on and off so often. I'm using a chest freezer and apparently this is better for them. Bit of a catch 22... The temp adjustment is at 1 degree. I've got it set to 3 and it fluctuates between 2-4

The old keg foams as the beer disappears trick

Last week I swapped one of my FC taps over to a regular forward sealing one for a test run, and it pours SO much better. I'll probably update all of mine to this. I always get this same problem. No idea how to fix it... - have a fan running - fridge varies between 2-4 degrees, with thermometer...

I know I'm gonna come across as a huge dick by saying this, but if you don't know what a DH is, or what Cryo hops are, maybe stay away from advice such as bolded. Open your eyes, you might learn something. Cryo hops are the bees knees. Give them a try.

exactly... this isn't a water profile issue. this is just not using enough hops issue!

It's where you put the wort into a cube to cool down, instead of using a chiller. Theory being the wort goes in hot, and you fill it completely full, so there's no oxygen and all bugs are killed. What's the biggest pot you have? And give me an example of a recipe you made recently that wanted...

More hops in a longer whirlpool at a cooler temp. Big DH. Put 30g hops in at 95 degrees If you're cubing, put 80-100g hops in your cube and cube between 75-80 degrees. When cubing at this temp, ferment it asap. If not cubing, do a 30-60min whirlpool at 65-75 degrees. I put about 5 ibu hops @60...

Honestly once I'm through my current hops, I'm probably not going to make an IPA without some cryo in it ever again. I've only just ordered some 2019 pink boots, which looked good. But not sure the 2020 is in Australia anywhere.

Any trick to washing them? Or just fill up with water + sod perc same as a cube, rinse then bit of star san for storage? I normally fill my cube all the way up, but I guess with the bags you wouldn't need to do that, and you'd still cover all the surface area...

    Cacao Nibs

I've only used them once. Out of the packet, they smell like ass and taste pretty ****. After roasting, they smell amazing and taste pretty good. I wouldn't use them without roasting just based on that.
