    Bluestone Melbourne Liquid Yeast

Hey guys I recently heard about this: https://bluestoneyeast.com.au/ Appears to be Melbourne grown liquid yeast. Never heard of it before. Anyone got any insights? You can't buy them off the website and a quick search doesn't return much of anything. Seems interesting.

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

I re-flashed the firmware to 6.0.1. I had it working and dropped into the fermenter - worked very well for about 2.5 days then as normal just stopped sending data. I took it out, put it into/out of operational mode and checked it connects and dropped it in again. After 3 days it stopped again...

Thanks. Just wanted to be clear before I did it. Have re-flashed it. Cheers.

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Thanks - but.... Do I remove the first line saying 'INTERNAL://NODEMCU' and replace this with 'c:\temp\folder\firmware601.bin' ? Or do I put 'c:\temp.... etc on the line underneath 'INTERNAL...'? And if I do that, what is the offset value?

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

So... on this screen (attached), what do I enter? ie, I have a single file called firmware601.bin (I assume that's all I need?) in c:\temp folder on my Windows laptop. Do I remove the first line saying 'INTERNAL://NODEMCU' and replace this with 'c:\temp\folder\firmware601.bin' ? Or do I put...

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Hi. I've been away the last two weeks with the family to Merimbula so haven't had a chance! Back at the weekend so will redo the firmware then. I won't be able to fully test it until my next brew but will let you know. Thanks

    Anyone Using Brewfather?

Millhouse, I don't believe there has been much proper study done with regards no chill and additional IBUs, it's all guesswork so I think it's anyone's guess whether it is 'fairly accurate' and therefore hard for any software to incorporate. I think you just need to change the recipe yourself.

All Grain - is it substantially better beer?

I second this recommendation. I did a few kit beers and just didn't like it much, as a mate said, they have that 'home brew' taste. So I bought the above mentioned 19L cheap pot with a grain bag and a few bits and pieces and never looked back. Just do it on the stove top and taste the...

    iSpindel Digital Hydrometer

Hi all, I've calibrated and have been using my iSpindel on a current brew, all going pretty well. I log my data to the brewing software Brewfather and it's looking good. However, after three days of pretty reliable updates the readings/updates have stopped. I'd have to then sanitise some tongs...

    Anyone Using Brewfather?

Brewfather works offline, it isn't online only. I believe you can make changes offline and then it will sync them back when you are online.

    Anyone Using Brewfather?

Yes, it has Tilt integration and I have an iSpindel and it integrates really well with that also. You can see a chart of gravity and temperature for your brew in Brewfather for your current fermenting batch, very cool. Never in a million years would you get this with Beersmith.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I agree they do get a bit of a rough time on this forum, some of it justified, some of it not so. I'm a happy customer of there's and it's a good effort to keep responding and to keep trying to address issues. It seems like you can barely make a positive comment about them without someone...

Storing in kegs - off the gas

I have a similar/related question to the OP. I have a small bar fridge/kegerator and it’s only got one keg in it at the moment (which is full of beer). If I’m away for a week was thinking to save some electricity I could switch off the fridge and then just switch it back on when I get home. Any...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Maybe KegLand have already worked this out but if these machines are expensive surely it’s simpler and easier on a 100g bag of hops to set the target weight to 110g. Some will get 100g.....some will get up to 120g, on average overall assuming the weighing machine is random it will be 110g. So if...

    A minimalist kegging system?

I also bought some of the nylon Pluto guns from kegland, they are cheap and are so far working well.
