    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Fully agree. Have basically given up on so called English ales at pubs and micros. The only commercial one I have had in Australia that was authentic, was at the Ballarat beer festival. It was by 7 Cent Brewery, served from a handpump, at about 12C, beautiful. The brewery next to 7 Cent at the...

    Great British Beer Festival

Tickets for the GBBF have just gone on sale. For non CAMRA members it is £10 per day and it you purchase a second day it costs another £5. Or a ticket for every session is £26. Very reasonable. With booking fees, it costs $51 to get into the Ballarat Beer Festival, and that's for only one day.

I have two of those in my kettle, bought them from Ibrew. Have done about 30 brews with them without any problems. Very easy to fit.

    Great British Beer Festival

I'm going this year LagerBomb. Have been to other beer festivals in the UK before but not the GBBF. Will be going to the festival for 2 or 3 days. Probably, at least, Thursday and Friday, but maybe Wednesday as well. Will be staying with my FIL for the first week which is about 30 min tube ride...

Temp probe for HLT and HERMs

That's not right. They are a 10K ohm NTC. You can extend the wire, the extra resistance you will introduce (making sure your joins are spot on) will be negligible. You can do the same thing with a PT100 (RTD). Thermocouples are a different kettle of fish, you need to use extension or...

Fat *******'s Taswonican Tour (Part II)

Got home this morning from two weeks in Tasmania. Got some good advice from "jlm" about where to visit in Tassy in regards to beer and food related stuff. Had an absolute ball. Wife reckons she would love to live there. Stayed with a mate in St Helens for a couple of nights who retired there...

Little Rivers Brewing Co. Kolsch 4.4% ABV Picked up a six pack from the brewery in Scottsdale, Tasmania. Lovely malt and a very easy drinker. The young fella doing the brewing was very happy to have a chat. Hope the brewery goes well for him.

what venues can't be missed in melbourne

The Munich Brauhaus isn't along South Bank its at South Wharf and it is at ground level. If you walk along South Bank, keep walking westerly, past the Convention Centre and a few other bars and restaurants and you can't miss it.

Cheapest fastest brewing beer for a young guy

Not sure where you got your information, but Aldi stores in Vic sell alcohol. So if he wants to chug Rivet Lager he is most welcome.

    Whats In The Glass (commercial)

Had a look around and according to Roger Protz (British beer writer), it's called Triple (not Tripel) because of the double drop fermentation and the bottle fermentation, which adds up to three fermentations. You can make your own mind up whether you agree or not. It's a very nice beer
