    KegLand Questions and Answers

The image of the fermzilla on the website shows it ready to go in dispense/transfer mode with dip tube etc. Is this the set up which corresponds with the listed price, or will it be like the generation 1 with pressure lid, float etc being optional extras? Also, with what appears to be an...

KK - 'Fermentasaurus' conical PET fermenter

I'm considering getting a generation 2 Fermentasaurus and was wondering if anyone had any advice or negative experiences with dispensing straight from the Fermentasaurus. The downtime between batches doesn't bother me; there are ways I can work around this. My main concern was with the ongoing...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Are the stated volumes of the new Fermentasauri a sensible batch size with some head space or the total volume, filled to the rim?

    Spunding Valve

Here's one valve manufacturer which makes them for as low as 0.5 psi (0.03 bar) : https://straval.com/products/relief-valves/relief-valve-low-pressure-diaphragm-control-inline-threaded-rvi-20/ From the same page: This is a diaphragm low-pressure valve which is used where accurate set pressures...

    Plastic beer tap?

It looks a bit like a Dalex tap, which are pretty common in the UK. I haven't seen anything similar in shops over here. They're easy to find in UK home brew stores and online, but postage could be a killer.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I really like the idea of removing the yeast and dispensing straight from the fermentasaurus. Will your new fridges need to be drilled through the door to affix a tap, or will there be a clever pre-ported option?

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I seem to be a bit of a serial fridge killer. Three times I have made the same mistake - I look at the indestructible old bangers on Gumtree which look like they're made of old soviet tractor parts, then a sale comes along and I think "hey, for a hundred bucks more I can get a brand new fridge...

    Mangrove Jack Yeast (in general)

Given the amount of love M42 has around here, including from me, how funny would it be if it was Nottingham the whole time?

    Mangrove Jack Yeast (in general)

Burton became Liberty Bell, British became New World, Newcastle became Empire. That's based on the descriptions of the original line up versus the new and expanded range. And yes, they're very good yeasts. I can't say for sure whether some of the strains are or are not the same as other brands...

Selling 2 x 12 Litre Kegs, Mount Hawthorn WA

I am selling two 12 litre/3 gallon ball-lock kegs. They are a few years old but have only been used a couple of times each. I simply bought too many kegs when I got into kegging and these have been sitting unused for ages now. The ones which I am using are the same type and haven't missed a...

    Lalbrew New England Yeast

Yet another new dry yeast, this time from Lallemand/Danstar. http://www.lallemandbrewing.com/product-details/lalbrew-new-england/ So far it's only available in 500g bricks, but 11g packs can't be too far away. The dry yeast market has gone berserk in the last few years and I'm loving it.

    Whats In The Glass

One step which Droid forgot to mention is to make sure you remove the mother-in-law from the stockings before adding the hops. It's a simple step but it can make a significant difference to your beer.

    Aldi specials

Whatever the answer is, and no-chill is a good one, stop lugging hot wort around. We want you drinking beer and posting on AHB, both of which are hard to do from the burns ward.

    New Oxygenation Method

With the slow output of this device, will the dissolved oxygen ever reach saturation? Is the intention to slowly get it up to 12-ish ppm, or will it be drip feeding the yeast at lower levels and replacing the oxygen as fast as they take it up?

    Fermenting Under Pressure

I was just thinking the same thing. I brew smaller batches than most people and serve from 12 litre kegs, so for me a normal cornie keg would be a kegmenter with loads of head space. I typically brew under 6% abv and empty a keg within about 5 weeks, so I'm wondering if I could just use a...

    which siphon starter?
