Closest home brew setup to a microbrewery?

I wasn't suggesting the Braumeister was in the same class as the others Mark , Braumeisters are a top class bit of gear , European made, I love my Braumeister, just that it represents a compact, space saving more cost-effective style of brewing .

Closest home brew setup to a microbrewery?

Basically there is alot to go into and I think a good place to start is read some brewing books .That sounds like a fob off but there needs to be an understanding of the science behind brewing. There are resources on this site and on youtube and other sites that can help. To answer your...

200-400 litre stainless fermenter/Unitank from KK or KL

I think he means 200 L - 400 L , I would be interested to know also. I know of a microbrewery that just ordered some from Keg Land but I haven't heard if they were happy with them and then there's the long term question over them . I understand why your asking there are some strange prices out...

    ABV of Barrel Aged Beer?

From memory I think it's humidity, either higher or lower than 65% that really makes a difference if ethanol or water is lost from the barrel. You can get it tested but it will cost around $40. eg vintessential.com.au.

I Want to support my LHBS but......

The online shop in Victoria would be ordering it straight from China where they would have to buy in BULK. They have to sell them, so they make a small margin but on lots. Your LHBS would probably be buying it from kegking or kegland , so add in their margin.

    Startup Brewery

Hey Jacko1234 , I wasn't trying to be really negative mate , I'm sorry if that's how it ended up , I was really just trying to explain how stupid the system is and how what appears not to be a big deal can end up costing more than if you just started in a small industrial area. Councils are a...

    Startup Brewery

That is the exception, you don't hear about the ones that are knocked back. The other thing is ask the guy how much it cost him. I would be interested to know the zoning of his land. I have a mate who lives in a "suburban" area that is zoned light industrial because of some historical quirk but...

I forget not all states are like NSW, a quick list of problems is ;waste water management, loading dock for trucks , heavy vehicle parking/turning , customers parking , increased heavy vehicles in residential area, increased odours residents can complain about, decreased property values...

    Startup Brewery

Sorry , WET (Wine Equalisation Tax). I can't imagine they wouldn't ask similar questions though as everything has to be tracked in and out with the dates .

    Startup Brewery

No council would allow you to have a wine / mead making business in a residential home. You wouldn't be able to do it for many reasons. As for aging the mead at home then getting an industrial site , you have to answer a whole list of questions from the ATO to get an excise license. You would...

They are very expensive, for the size. They do offer finance solutions though. It looks good but I think they quoted 90 K.

    Selling Homebrew Legally

I don't know Tasmanian Local Council Laws but here in NSW you would have to get a DA approval and jump through all the hoops they put up. For those reasons many breweries end up in industrial properties. Just mention the word Brewery around a residential estate and you will get people jumping...

    Tin allergy

If you think it is an allergic reaction ask your doctor for IgE levels and Tryptase on a pathology request form but DON'T get your blood taken till just after you have your next significant reaction. As for doctors with diagnosing allergic reactions , most have a very limited knowledge. You...
