Where to get beer gas on the Gold Coast?

I work for a business (not a lhbs) that stocks it in Brisbane. Don't really feel its appropriate posting on the forum but pm me for details of you want. We have locations closer to you that would be able to get it in.

Colonial Brewing South West Sour clone

Email them and ask them. I emailed them asking about what goes into their IPA and where I could get the sour. Their head brewer emailed me back and was quite forthcoming with the malt bill and what hops go into in. I also heard back from the sales manager as to where I could get the sour. If you...

    Mangrove Jack Craft Series Yeasts

Judging off my own experience and what I have read elsewhere it is a blend of two yeasts, one fast acting and another much slower. Even so it doesn't attenuate that well and does need time to condition, tastes a bit yeasty and masks malt flavour early on.

Should I upgrade to a 1/2 inch immersion chiller coil from 5/16 inch?

You probably won't notice much difference. I have two immersion chillers one about 5/16" (might even be 1/4") and even that I run the water through quite slowly as if you run it through too fast it doesn't have enough time to suck up the heat and just wastes water. However similar to the above...

    American IPA

FYI JDW81 this is a FWK. It's a small neighbourhood brewery on the Northside of Brisbane that do a good range of FWKs.

    EOI Oxygen scavenging caps/crown seals

This is a good point. Is liquid the problem or water specifically? You may get away with a high concentration alcohol (2-3%) water. Do you know someone with a still? Looks like most ethyl sanitiser is about 70% which means a good proportion of the balance is probably water.

    Herms system for sale

Would you consider selling the kegerator separately? If so how much?

    Senior airlock

Thanks for the replies. Will see how things go as I currently have a batch fementing with M15 which I have had this issue with in the past. Noted as well Mark your comments regarding wheat beers (after re reading the thread). My biggest overflow was a recipe with ~25% wheat and ~25% Rye, 23l in...

    Senior airlock

Thanks, yeah that's exactly what I've got. My concern is the top cap, that's sort of dull has got really small holes in it. I'm concerned this will restrict the off gassing to the point where goop (krausen/yeast) will overflow. Have has situations in the past similar to smertins image. Less the...

    Senior airlock

Do you have a pic of one of the three piece airlocks? The one google results I can find are the type I have. The main reason I got one of these is to for certain yeasts I have had problems with as I had read elsewhere these types of airlocks flow more as you said. I don't really want to go down...

    Senior airlock

So I got one of these the other day and am using it for the first time. It is in three parts, the body, the inverted bit and a cap. The cap has very small holes and I am concerned will restrict the off gassing to the point where it might make a mess. Should I ditch it or is it necessary? Perhaps...

    G’day AHB

Back off topic agreed and agreed, the Netflix era was dismal, should have left it where it was. Back on topic, I'm a big fan of mosaic. It's great as a smash hop and great in an ipa, whether or not as both.

    Weak (if any) fermentation

When you say packet yeast do you mean one that came under a kit lid or a commercial one? Either way you may have a low attenuation yeast strain?

    Robobrew 3

I find a good grist to water ratio is about 3.3 in the rb. As far as the scorching goes are you using bit elements when mashing? The instructions specify to only use the smaller (400w?) element when the mash pipe is in to avoid scorching.

What have you dropped into the Fermenter?

Not quite dropping something in the fermenter but I did a good one today - one I'm sure a lot of you have done. Whilst filling up my fermenter I realised I had left the tap open, only realising after about a litre of wort was spilled on the laundry floor...

    G’day AHB

At the risk of taking this thread wildly off topic I am amazed at how all of the main characters as well as Barrie Dunn are so intelligent and articulate. Such a great irony considering the characters they play.

    500L Braumeister for sale

Agreed with Weal. But what kind of ******** would stuff around with a purchase like that? You either have a need for it commercially and a genuine idea of what it's worth or you leave it alone.

    Weak (if any) fermentation

Welcome to the forum Paddy. I don't think it is lack of aeration and there is no chance it is due to adding extra dme. What sort of yeast did you use? If it is a pack taped under the lid of a kit it is rubbish yeast anyway and likely to have been treated poorly. Even if you bought a...

    Simply Summer

This refers to a hopping schedule during a boil. The name "summer, citra, cascade, etc" if the variety and the second number is the time remaining in the boil. So in your example it is an addition of 25g of summer hops with 10 mins remaining in the boil. If it says at 4 days etc this refers...
