    Single cube addition only? Is it tasty?

    I use 15 mins steep/whirlpool in beersmith for my cube additions - this is with a transfer to cube approx 25 mins after flameout. I used to use 20 mins s/w but found I wasn't quite getting the level of bitterness I expected.

    Just score it with a sharp knife slightly then split with your fingers. Mine only crumble when the score is too deep.

    IIPA, will it work with BIAB?

    Agree with Rocker1986, you'll either need to do a reiterated mash or do a sparge. I BIAB in a 40L urn and find that a big grain bill like that gives rubbish efficiency. I recently did an IPA with 7kg grain and only got about 62% efficiency - for reference my efficiency for standard gravity...

    That's so interesting, I had the same beer in the same glass on Thursday night and couldn't have been more underwhelmed! Perhaps my can was treated worse than yours? Although in general I've found most Stone beers I've tried to be over rated.

    I'd move the 30 min galaxy addition to flameout and I would also either halve the 60 min addition and move half to the last 15 mins, or move the whole amount to 30.

    What are you brewing in 2017 ?

    Found some 2014 POR at the bottom of the freezer so making a simple Aussie ale tonight. Grain bill was roughly 84% ale 12% wheat 2% med crystal 2% acidulated Mash at 66 for at least 1 1/2 hours - will prob be closer to 2 Single 60 min addition of POR for 25-30 ibu.

    Post-post mowing American Red. Can't remember % but ale, Munich, med crystal, dark crystal and a touch of roast malt. Chinook 60 & cube, no dry hop.

    Post mowing pale ale. 82% ale,9% Supernova, 9% wheat. A touch of Columbus @ 60, mosaic and a smidge of centennial @ cube, 2.5g/l mosaic keg hop. 40 something ibu. Delicious!

    Chinook pale ale 22l batch 4.25kg bb ale 0.5 wey Munich 1 0.25 bb med crystal 0.1 wey acidulated 2 hour mash @ 67ish 5g Columbus @ 60 25g Columbus @ cube 50g Chinook @ cube 50g Chinook @ dry hop Mashed in about 30 mins ago, will pull the bag when both kids are in bed. [emoji482]
