    Minimising oxidation

Yeah, Oxidation ruins hoppy aromas, especially when you want the keg to stay around awhile, I'll be giving this ago next keg up, but the Russian river brewery who do the famed Pliney the elder apparantly flush out water from receiving vessels with the co2 to keep the big aromas in tact, it's...

    Minimising oxidation

In the quest to improve my beers, I've started doing my lagers in a keg king kegmenter which gives me near 100% sealed pressure ferment system! which I then transfer under pressure through my purged filter and into my purged kegs. Now, this gives me a minimal risk of oxidation, I've never had...

    Camping with kegs

Dispensing warm beer into a growler will foam out everywhere and the little liquid left will be flat and farked. For that volume of beer / consumption I'd , fill growlers and/or soft drink bottles with a carb cap cold. Then seal, you can let these then rise to room temp , and when away just...

Has Robobrew overtaken Grainfather for product price point?

The larger 64 ltr system would be good, I get 2 x 21 ltr batches upto 1048 grav on each gf mash , but a bigger system might get me 3-4 19 to 21 ltr batches.. I watch with excitement .

    A Return to Kits

I've got mates who I've setup with keg systems and only do kits. Some of the Morgans kits especially the lager receipes turn out really good. On their brew days I go over as they are still learning , let em mix it all up to the Morgans or coopers receipe , I usually take a big yeast starter of...

Get into O2 guys, if you're serious about nicer beer

Not sure... But I do remember MHB stating once that it does sound reasonable that due to higher O2 there is abit more lag due to this. I have noticed this in my batches , usually 24-36 they fire away hard, nicer looking krausen and finish slightly quicker with a couple of points lower. One thing...

Get into O2 guys, if you're serious about nicer beer

When you say you pitched yeast cold, did you pitch it at the same or very close to the wort temp? If you pitched chilled down starter into 20 c wort you prob have shocked it.

Mini Keg Discussion / Mods / Show Off - Dedicated Thread

Another recommendation I can offer is, Allways smear o ring lube over your posts on these, if you use a good quality silicone base oring lube, smear it between your fingers then over the posts and oring, each time you take these out for use. Your posts, orings and more importantly disconnects...

Mini Keg Discussion / Mods / Show Off - Dedicated Thread

I find that setting the pressure to pouring pressure then connecting onto keg works well for me, but using the supplied taps is a pita due to no line resistance so they pour way too fast unless you just have minimal gas pressure set , then the next problem is the volume of gas can't keep up with...

    Keg System

You can make better beer, but if you have no brewing experience, and want some resonable beer on tap fast, then using one of those companies such as brew by you or you brew it or whatever possible will get you off and running. You can then read over the forums and learn to brew kits etc while...

    Troubleshooting a keg king kegerator

Sounds like you got a refrigerant gas leak somewhere or over heated condenser, Compressor is too hot because not enough cool gas coming back to cool it down. Have you put a big load in it today like warm full kegs, condenser /heat exchanger in a not well ventilated area? Or hot environment like...

Anyone selling a second hand mill in Brisbane?

Hey mate, I've got a 1 year old barley crusher with 3 kg hopper attached . It's still good nick, the non cranking roller is alittle stiff, does free up but after a kg or so it sticks alittle. I've had no time to check it but it feels alittle stiff but if you spin it frees up for abit. Not sure...
