I drew the line at banana peels, back when Google wasn't around to disprove urban legend.

    Best Site Ever!

Sounds like someone has airs and graces. If you knew this forum you'd probably have come to the conclusion that there's a wide variety of occupations amongst us. In fact, I've encountered more IT workers and engineers on here than tradies.

Vic Release - Southern Courage RIS

Look what I found on the way home. Only 10%...you switching to lighter beers Yob? Looking forward to this but will cellar it a bit first. MB, one of these has your name on it, if or when you can pick it up. I'll tuck em aside for now. Good work Jesse. My wall of beer bottles is nearly full and...

Disconnects and Blichmann 3 piece ball valve

Looking at the pics I'd say you're using a 3/4" to 1/2" adaptor to join the tap to the outlet. While the above advice is spot on, if you're only using the outlet to drain wort, a few layers of pink thread tape and a leftward poking tongue will make it serviceable. If your apparatus is intended...

    Let's Freeze Some Yeast

Even the autoclavable ones don't like being pressure cooked with the lids screwed down tight. Another rookie mistake.

Continuing Rant Thread - Get it Off Ya Chest here

Sounds like a tricky one. If you're confident the battery and alternator is good it must be drawing current at some stage when idle. Did you try the ammeter on the mA setting and if so did you confirm current flow until shutdown? Might be a dicky BCM but will be hard to prove without hard...

Continuing Rant Thread - Get it Off Ya Chest here

What sort of car? How long does it take to drain? How did you measure current draw? Is your ammeter fuse blown? Have you load tested the battery? If it's a modern car with electronics then you should have a slight current draw (15-50mA typically) so first thing I'd do is connect the ohmeter...

What brewgear did you get for xmas 16

Cheers for your advice Lager Bloke. It helped me make my mind up and I'm now the proud owner of a Unimig Inverter TIG. Works a treat and very happy with my purchase.

    Welding Courses (Melbourne)

Yup, location certainly helps when you're asking WHERE. Can't really help you there. I learnt oxy, arc and mig as an apprentice nearly twenty years ago at Kangan Batman Coburg which has since closed down thanks to the asbestos. The classes were helpful but I learnt a lot more at home and work...

    Welding Courses (Melbourne)

Do a TIG course. Far more variables to learn like welder settings and tungsten types. Arc and Mig are a lot easier to learn IMO. If you buy a TIG you'll get an MMA/ARC welder anyway. With DC you'll be able to upgrade the brewery stainless. Spend the extra coin on an AC TIG and you'll be able to...
