    Stir plate oddness

I've had WY1968 stop a stir bar dead in it's tracks. When it decides it's done it drops like a bucket of cement. I have intermittent issues with throwing stirbars which I put down to most of the above factors. The strength of your magnets is a big one. Rare earth magnets are pretty cheap on ebay...

    Ripleys Believe It Or Not

When the *** drops out of your hydrometer tube but your boots got your back. Believe it....or not.

    Reverse osmosis system.

Another benefit of living in the eastern burbs of Melbourne, aside from the quality of the water, is the pressure at which it is delivered.

    Reverse osmosis system.

Like I said, a little less than 90l waste after collecting 90l using Melbourne's water which is some of the cleanest in the country. But thanks for elaborating.

    Reverse osmosis system.

I bought a cheap 3 stage RO system off ebay a few years ago when I built my rig. Paid about $120 from memory. One thing to watch for is the flow rate. It would take me most of the day to fill a 90l HLT and I would also lose a little less than 90l just in waste water even with our clean...

    Do you use a VPN?

A year or so ago I used a trial version of Unblock-US to access US Netflix. TBH, there was a shitload of content but very little I was interested in. Found it was easier to stick with Aus Netflix and download anything else from torrents. Have been looking into VPNs recently but sites like RARBG...

    Chuck them or keep them...

I too have started brewing after a year or two's break. I had a bunch of hops dating back to 2012 and decided to chuck these however I did open them to have a smell and was surprised to find no cheesy or meaty smells. However, I did find that both the EKG and the Styrian had a delicious...

What are you brewing in 2017 ?

Agreed. Bradsbrew obviously had too many cones today. Personally, I managed to knock out 44l of a 1063og IPA. Magnum and chinook for bitterness and mosaic, citra and galaxy at whirlpool. Still having efficiency woes but will figure it out soon enough.

    Auber PID

What sort of setup are you aiming for? If it's for a single vessel setup you should be aware that the 2352P doesn't have a manual mode to control the output to the element. This means you'll need another means to control the boil. If it's just to control mash temp than the 2352P is the duck's...

Wow. Awesome timing. Seems all the stars have aligned for my return into the brewing fold. Count me in!

    Cheapest adjunct

Thank God for your extensive brewing knowledge mate. Can't say I have much experience with adjuncts. Most of my brewing is pretty rudimentary. Keen to pick up some ideas though.

What are you brewing in 2017 ?

Haha! If I could sell it for anywhere near the price some are asking on here I probably would! But it was after paying $33 for a FOUR pack of DIPA that really tipped the scales. A cracking example of the beer mind you but sick of being ripped off by blokes in skinny jeans reeking of moustache...

What are you brewing in 2017 ?

Looks like every time I use rye in the mash. I'd agree with Droid's theory. Too much flour wreaks havoc on the flow rates in my system. Nath, you'd be pleased to know that, inspired by you nutters, I've fired up the rig this morning and will try and knock out 55l of a tweaked DSGA recipe using...

Vic 2017 Xmas in July Case Swap

Big thanks to Micbrew for the sodium perc. I didn't get to thank you as I could only drop in Sunday morning but next swap I'll buy you a drink ;-). Was good to catch up with a few old faces, however briefly, as well as meet a few new ones. Cheers Cam

Auber PID being wierd (i think?)

I used Cocko's steps when programming my 2352P and they've served me well and cover most of the styles I brew. Be sure you've downloaded the supplement manual for the ramp/soak model and not just the 2352 manual. Takes a little bit of getting used to but I keep a printout of the attached image...
