All pigs fed and ready to fly.

Our local council has approved jetties sticking out into the river for each of the rich mansion owners .. .how about the insist of some electricity generators feeding back into the grid on those structures for the rest of us? . . Instead they are just happy to take a fee for the jetty...

All pigs fed and ready to fly.

Fair enough, but my point is that there are ready alternatives available. Let's pursue them. Let's get on with it. Why are there hundreds of river front houses along the river through our town, and not a single one of them using the powerful river current to generate a single Watt of electricity??

All pigs fed and ready to fly.

Agreed it's absolutely hypocritical. We have the technology and knowledge now. What is the government waiting for? Elon Musk offered to build a system for us and if it didn't work, he would give us our money back. Why didn't we take him up on it? .. because the Government had too many fingers...

All pigs fed and ready to fly.

That's what happened in America and France prior to the revolutions. Fortunately we have a democracy (well, sort of) and we can hold our elected representatives to account every 3 years provided there is a suitable alternative standing for election.

All pigs fed and ready to fly.

It will all be a moot point soon. New technologies will mean that 90% of people just go off the grid. This will be bad news for the government, because they won't get any money or royalties from their infrastructure (hence, ironically they may as well sell it all off). Where I live, we have...

Incompetent feckers the lot of them. We need 500 members to start a political party. Lets go.

what to do with a bunch of roasted grains

^I think you'll find pale malt well and truly existed in the 18th century. 25kg of roasted barley and black malt! Terrible problem to have! Maybe find your local brew club and see if anyone is up for a grain swap, where are you located? Sorry I can't comment on flavour differences as I've never...

    Help - brew stopped bubbling!!

Should be right, sometimes the show can be over in a couple days, but the yeast will be working sight unseen. Leave it for a couple weeks and bottle it.

    Blueberry Extract

Where are you located? It's currently Blueberry season in NSW. Some of the growers might have frozen seconds.

    Whats In The Glass

Last glass from the 1 hour micro-biab (Golden promise and Motueka Smash). Motueka is quite subtle, nice colour from the GP. No clarifying agents so it's al-naturalll.

    Caterpillars on Hops Plants

Many ways to skin the cat. Pyrethrum I understand is contact (non systemic) and non targeted (can be harmful to other insects). .. very few things are perfect.

    Caterpillars on Hops Plants

Apologies. I have discovered that there is an exemption for domestic use (at least under the NSW regulation). However, the wording is tricky (see below) " ... a product that is widely available to the general public at retail outlets, is ordinarily used for domestic purposes (including home...

    Caterpillars on Hops Plants

Those are very broad categories. Formally speaking, anyone wanting to use a pesticide (particularly commercially) need to contact the APVMA to determine if it is registered for that pest (or crop) in their particular State. Each State varies in their law. My understanding is that in NSW the...

Continuing Rant Thread - Get it Off Ya Chest here

In all seriousness though, Australia's economy is being propped up by a ponzi housing scheme, with a personal debt per capita higher than anywhere else in the world. It's not difficult to see where it's likely to end.

    Caterpillars on Hops Plants

A hop is a hop (Humulus lupulus) In NSW, I don't think there are any herbicides registered for caterpillars in hops. But TAS and VIC I think there are registered options, where are you located? Current registrations, permits can be verified with APVMA and/or PubCris. Each state is different as...
