    Inline sight glass (?)

Thanks LC I'll have another look when I get home tonight. The guy I got it off was a plant physiologist (horticulturalist) but even he didn't know what it was - inherited it off an even older researcher I think ... yes definitely looks like a media trap/ filter of some kind. The bottom tap is...

    Inline sight glass (?)

Sounds like a brilliant idea. I've never even heard of a Randall before googling it just now. Looks like fruit can also be used to good effect in a "Randall"?

    Inline sight glass (?)

Scored this bad boy from a retiring researcher who knew I was into brewing - impressive engineering. Looks like a big inline sight glass (pressure vessel?) - about 1 Litre capacity with an SS mesh at one end. The only thing on my system that runs at pressure is a serving line from the keg. I...

Warning Regarding Big W PET Beer Bottles, and my Introduction to AHB

Agreed they are a PITA - but I seem to get mine to work pretty well. . got to be patient, hold the mouth right. I do come from a very small town though .. 3 kids in my class (guaranteed a ribbon on sports day). That could have something to do with it.

Warning Regarding Big W PET Beer Bottles, and my Introduction to AHB

Home brewers can do this too with a counter pressure bottle filler. Cost $99 from memory. Flush with CO2, fill from the bottom and cap on foam. It's a slightly messy process, but seems to work well.

What's wrong with a big syringe to get it started?

    which siphon starter?

Lol. Probably the syringe would the better option with a tube reducer to match needs.

    which siphon starter?

An enema bulb will get things moving. And should get the siphon started too. https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-******-Enema-Anal-******l-Colon-Clean-Cleansing-System-Silicone-Bulb-Style-/322797693144?nav=SEARCH

If you're stuck, just buy a couple of those supermarket cool bags. You'll need 2 for each fermenter - one on bottom, one on top - duct tape around the middle. Swap ice bricks out twice a day.

ebay. search extra large cooler bag. but check size to fit fermenter and postage cost: I'll go a fridge and temp controller if I could too, but likely moving house soon - so don't want the clutter.

This is what I do for temperature - a soft esky bag and an ice-brick (zipped up inside). Keeps it down below 18 during a warm day. Good for normal beer, not so much for making lager.
