    Freezers Flight

I think I might try this. Right now I can think of the following sitting in my freezer at home: Citra Bobek (unopened 90g packet) Willamette Cascade Amarillo Centennial Nelson Sauvin Grain could be 95% Pale 5% Caramalt as per Brewdog's Punk IPA. I'm thinking mix them all together and then...

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

I've been achieving 78-79% efficiency on my Mk1 Robobrew by making the following changes to my process: * Change to a brew shop with a coarser grind - old shop was just pulverising it * Using Bru'n Water spreadsheet and treating water with Calcium Chloride, Gypsum, Epsom and Citric Acid to hit...

Has Robobrew overtaken Grainfather for product price point?

No idea, but based on their pricing of the 35L I'd wager they'll still come in under the Grainfather price for the 65. Having run the Robobrew with a magnetic drive pump for over a year now I can attest to it's ability to make great beer. Having not used a Grainfather I can't really speak...

    No chill ipa recipe advice

Wouldn't this negate the effects of cube hopping though? Putting them in the pool should cool them rather rapidly no? I like the idea of using the pool to chill the cubes, but wouldn't this mess with the concept of throwing any sub 20min hops in the cube?

    Recipe advice: Raspberry Wheat

With 2kg of fruit you will certainly be showcasing the raspberries. I recently used 1kg in a Raspberry Blonde and the fruit flavour came through very strong, but tart. Will be interesting to know just how much more colour and flavour 2kg will add - mine was a very dark pink colour.

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

+1 for Grain Crush having an impact. I hadn't brewed in a while but yesterday I put down a Maris Otter/Citra SMaSH on the Robo with grain I bought from a different shop to my usual. I could tell the grind was coarser immediately as there was far less flour at the bottom of the bag and the mash...

    Balter XPA clone assistance.

I would swear there is Galaxy in that beer. Particularly considering Head Balter brewer came from S&W.

Any all-grain recipes for: Karl Strauss Tower 10 IPA?

Wow - I did not get that at all. I found it much more bitter. It has been a few years since I tried it though, maybe they have changed the recipe.

    Mandarin IPA

I was also reading about the use of citric acid in lowering mash ph and the zesty citrus notes it can give the final product.

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

I've definitely noticed a bit of scorched grain dust on the elements when cleaning up. I can't say I've detected any caramel flavours in my brews though. Efficiency and water volumes are still taking up the majority of my energy at the moment sadly.

    Mandarin IPA

Yeah I wanted Citra, but couldn't get it at LHBS so went with the Grapefruit/Cascade combo

    Mandarin IPA

I carbed this up two weeks ago and tried it last weekend. Tasting notes: - The Mandarins were quite tart and I tasted the juice before it went into secondary and it was definitely not sweet. This does come through in the finished product but is not unpleasant - The aroma is pure mandarin and...

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

I suspect it's my sparge water measurements that are out - just trying to confirm if this would be the absolute reason for missing OG. I am very happy with the purchase. I have a recirc pump too and given the low cost I believe it is a must have item.

    Mandarin IPA

Brew day went reasonably well yesterday: Prep - I had to use about 15-20 (lost count) Mandarins to get the 50g of zest. Fortunately I have a lot of them free from the mother in law's tree. I peeled and segmented 1kg of Mandarin flesh and put it in the freezer until it's time The Brew: The...

Keg King ROBOBREW 35L SINGLE VESSEL BREWERY

For those that don't have the newer Robo's with volume etchings on the inside, what are you using for water measurements? I made a crude measuring stick with 1L increments before my first brew but I fear that it may be inaccurate as I ended up with about 1.5L too much wort yesterday and...

    Mandarin IPA

Have made a few adjustments based on the feedback. I also figure that 200g of Mandarin flesh is not enough so I've upped that to a kilo: STATS: Original Gravity: 1.057 Final Gravity: 1.010 ABV (standard): 6.2% IBU (tinseth): 61.84 SRM (morey): 8.67 FERMENTABLES: 4.3 kg - United Kingdom -...
