    Lallemand Nottingham

15-16c for me. Makes a nice, clean beer. As mentioned , it can be a beast. I've dumped a 1052 og wort on a whole cake and had at 1003 fg in 4 days. Need to keep the temperature down when doing that or it climbs out of the fv.

    Chunky trub

Didn't happen to use a different yeast this time? I,ve forgot the wf tab a few times and only noticed an increase in trub, not necessarily trub consistently . Nottingham seems to make a particularly chunky cake. Edit- Actually, all high floccing yeasts end up like that in my experience .

'Craft' beer tax to be Fed Election issue

    Yes it is.

'Craft' beer tax to be Fed Election issue

I really doubt the huge alcohol tax slows down hardcore pissheads anyway . Just less food on the table ect, for their children .

    Cyclone Debbie. Bring it on.

Rockhampton will go under in a week or so too. The Fitzroy is an enormous river, by East Coast standards, and all the water entering that catchment needs to pass through the city. At least they have plenty of time to prepare .

All good . Looking forward to the beer being cold again by tomorrow arvo though .

    Cyclone Debbie. Bring it on.

We got power back on about an hour ago after 3 days . Parts of Mackay are seriously ****** up , although nothing compared to those a bit north. An army chap told me today we had wind gusts a shade under 200kmph. Quite proud of our little fibro house.

    Dry hopping

If you have temperature control, tear open the "tea bag" and drop in the hops. They will sink during the cold crash . If not, just drop the bag in. You can get 100g bags of hops for 6-12 bucks( depending on type and availability ) from proper home brew shops. Usually much cheaper and fresher...

    Rice

I've used it a few times and can't taste the difference , even though it's made from brown rice.

Coopers bogged down in bible backlash?

Damn right, bacon is yummy. And shellfish ....oohhhh...a bacon and shellfish eating orgy sounds terribly sinful . Edit- I'll definitely be off to hell if any of those shellfish are gay....or happen to be wearing mixed fabrics( as gay shellfish are known to do) or....

    I had a shocker

Whats the temperature of your wort now? I've done what you have a couple of times . The first time, the heat from the runway ferment was too much for my fridge ......the result was undrinkable . Second time, I loaded the fermenting fridge with 2 and 3ltr bottles of ice. Dropped the temperature...

    Cammuri Brauer is here

Agitating the mash, on this type of system would just result in a shitload of trub, without an increase in efficiency . Or am I missing something ?

    Hilary or Donald

Haha. Yeah .Letting the country know she's a loudmouth with a particularly large ****** probably didn't help in her quest to find a man.

Did you use a cleaning agent on your bottles ?

    hot enough for ya?

Heats going to take until Monday to reach Mackay. Supposed to get to 35 or higher. Doesn't sound too bad but the heat index should be just south of 50c. Happy days .

    Hilary or Donald

I tend to agree with your comment but c'mon most women aren't as physically strong as men of the same weight. Its just a biological fact. Most healthy young men could lift half their body weight above their head, whereas most women would struggle . Some jobs require strength and as such, are...

    Australia Day lamb advertisement

Why is the price of lamb so high these days? As a child, in the mid 70's, we lived in a small town named El Arish in FNQ. In the wet season my old man would be rained of work for weeks in a row at times, and as a result we ate a lot of lamb during those times because it was so cheap ( along with...

Those look tasty Brad. Do you think the ancient Egyptian parmesan sprinkling ceremony improved the flavour ?
