    Impressence Range

I just remembered i've also got the Peppermint Schnapps lying around. I made this like a month ago. The flavour is very much like the chocolate coated spearmint leaves you can buy. Not super intense spearmint flavour, but a nice all rounder. I'm trying to think what I would use this in...

    Impressence Range

I've purchased 4 of these sachets so far. I'm adding it to high proof neutral which I am diluting down to the recommended 40% abv. I am pretty confident that its a clean clear base for adding essences to and should allow the essence to shine through. Here are my thoughts: Glampari : this is...

Aperol or Apritzo Spritz Recipe Using Cask Wine (From Aldi) (New Aperol Impressence Essence)

Ok, 5 negronis down - got to be thorough in the testing. The Negronis are delicious using the glampari essence. Using proper campari, you get a sweetness in the mid to late palate, whereas the glampari has a more herbaceous note - this is far from a deal breaker and I am going to 100% make the...

Aperol or Apritzo Spritz Recipe Using Cask Wine (From Aldi) (New Aperol Impressence Essence)

Based on Fortmonty's review, I ordered 3 packets of the Glampari essence - I just mixed up a batch now. I am very impressed with this. Its very close to proper Campari. I'll make up some negronis, but based on initial testing, I dont think I'll be buying Campari much longer. Its got the...

Beer excise tax killing off Aussie craft breweries

Do complain. Do give a crap. Its the only way things will change. Also, this is probably just to avoid paying the tax excise like the other brewery did. Hawkers isnt going anywhere. Its just a tax savings strategy.

    Brew Bucket 2.0 or generic?

Plastic fermenters (pressurised) you get a few years of usage out of, before they need to be pressure tested. well worth the money and ease of entry IMO. If you do get the Kegland SS fermenter, just replace the tap with a three piece ball valve. These can be broken down for proper cleaning...

    Seltzer Bottling 3 Carb Drops???

when I used to use carb drops - i found two really did a good job of over-carbonating my beer. Three might be a risk of explosion. Do 3 drops in a plastic bottle maybe, and see what happens. If the lid expands to the point it bulges out, then you know for sure it is too much sugar.

    Tap cocktail through icebank

I don't think people are quite understanding the question being asked. He has already carbonated his champagne, and wants to serve it, presumably at events. But he is finding that it becomes flat after running through the ice chiller. Unfortunately, beer equipment isn't designed to keep these...

    Tap cocktail through icebank

I don't think setting it much higher will be good for you. Instead, try have a few feet of coil after the ice bank so that the bubbles have time to go back into suspension. That would be a better bet imo.

Kegland. What pump do you suggest people pair with the g40 in order to pair it with the cooling coil? Also, Are we meant to use the 6mm outlet plugs, or the drain hole?

    Food Gardening

I have a bunch of HDPE fermenters - like 5 or 6 of them, and pressurised fermenters, and now a stainless fermenter...Its gotten out of control. I feel guilty just throwing them in the bin. Could I spray paint them, fill them with soil and then use them as planters for fruit trees? The spray...

Converting from gas to electric kettle

I was running 3600w heating elements on 15amp extension cords with 1.5mm wire cables and it very quickly burnt through them. If it’s directly connected to heating elements, two sparkies have said you will want 2.5mm wiring, if it’s connected to the brewzilla 65L then you should be fine.

Equipment For Sale FREE [MELB] SS False bottom 30cm

Channeling wont be an issue as I wont be using it in a mash tun whereby I will be recirculating the mash. Instead, I will be fermenting on the grain to get more flavour out of the eventual bourbon/whiskey. Just need a easy way of filtering out the solids when draining. A bazooka screen could...

Equipment For Sale FREE [MELB] SS False bottom 30cm

I could probably use this. I want to use it in a variable capacity 300L tank. it doesn't need to be flush with the walls does it? I'm thinking if I do a ferment on grain, then this could help with draining from near the tap.

    Brew with coffee

No need for a homemade device. Just use a spare plastic fermenter if you need volume. Otherwise a 2L glass jar, 5L demijohn etc etc I have been to Code Black in South Melbourne and chatted to the dude their who literally uses a 50L fermenter and a BIAB bag to steep their cold brew in. Tastes...
